    Select text to see answer:
    x+y = abcde

    where
    a=x-y,
    bc=x*y,
    and
    de=x+y.

    Good one!

    It is sort of funny, I did quite well in math classes up through differential equations, but I am horrible at 'brain teasers'. For instance I have no idea how that answer and the question are related in any way.

    You mean wegs's's'?

    It looks a lot worse than it is.

    7+3=42110
    The '4' is 7-3,
    The '21' is 7x3,
    The '10' is 7+3.
