Please explain why that makes you want to sell your property. What, exactly, is the problem?

No, by all means, be a bigot and a racist if it makes you money. Millions of people sell out their morality and honor to the almighty dollar; why should you be any different?

It will be great if everyone examine themselves and be honest to yourself , I am sure you will find racism and bigotry in your own life.

    Certainly.

But how many of them start threads about their own bigotry on a discussion board and then try to justify it?

What makes you think "blacks" are a social group? All they have in common is the colour of their skin (and even that is a continuum rather than a binary).

Anyway, I'm sure that the new people in your neighbourhood won't won't to deal with racists anyway. You'll be happy to sell them your house, I assume?

Pardon me, but you folks are naive of real life.
My brother in law was very open minded, when one family moved in but after a few years one half of the block was black, the area become filled with trash , danger was to live anything in front of the yard , than your bunga bunga music , so he sold and run away from there.
By the way . How the good open minded Australian deal with the Lebanese, I assume every body like to live among them

What has the trash and the danger got to do with black people, in general? Why do you make it about race? Are you suggesting that black people, in general, are dirty and throw their trash around? Or what?

Australians of Lebanese origin are as Australian as citizens of any other origin. Australia is a nation of immigrants. Most Australians trace their ancestry back to some other country or countries only one or two generations removed.

Are you suggesting that there is some problem with people of Lebanese origin, in general? Does it have something to do with their skin colour?

Well in what prevalent areas does the the crime takes place in the big city in the USA ? check it out , frankly I don't believe you are so naive.
I know a little about discrimination in Australia , your native are discriminated by the English invaders, same as here. You have a special Island
for the boat people. So please don't pretend that we are the only country. Bigots and racist are not born , they are product made by less civilized humans .

So... If I deciphered that correctly, it is the fault of black people that you don't like black people. Do I have that right?

I noted several factors why she never experienced racism. she only associated with church members and if she did work, it was only at church or connected to it. even though these particular churches were not liberal, she was a conservative herself through and through to the point she was a bigot against anyone that wasn't a christian.

besides that, most people operate more instinctually than is realized. liberals were not going to be racist towards her because well, they are liberal and because she was a conservative, they would identify with her and she would not be the major target of them. how lucky but unfair. besides, like most conservatives, she was a very dominant personality so people would be even scared to pick her for that, out of other asians.

also, most people are not as racist technically as they think. some make that decision by choice so as not to learn about different people, to continue their bigotry or they don't have experience learning about different people. even conservative bigots i've found use a gradient system and even if one is of another race, they would tend to be 'less' racist or prejudice or hostile to someone more like-wise than to someone that isn't. that's just how people naturally are.

when you have more experience or open to having more experience, you find out there are all kinds of people within any race and even bigots find other bigots, paradoxically, in other races just as them just as more the liberal types would. so, though people may have some cultural differences where it's more superficial such as cuisine, looks etc, people identify friends vs foe based on deeper traits and that is similar moral and political core values, regardless of race.

it just made me angry because i knew how she was. she was one of those asians who was uncaring toward animals, a bigot against anyone who wasn't of her religion, had disdain for ethics, excused the worst and hated or jealous of genuinely good-hearted people. yet she was shielded and protected by conservative whites like they were a fan and was one of them, while i've known genuinely kind-hearted, ethical and honest asians be the target of and bear the brunt of the worst stereotypes and taunting that they did not deserve or even apply to them.

she even depended on me to navigate the culture and world, even more than her favored daughter and did not appreciate it at all. she was such a user that in racist alabama (and it was horrificly racist back then), she would send me still as a child to the asian grocery store to pick up items because she did not want to be taunted as i had to walk home carrying those items. that's how lame and cowardly she was for a huge whale with an ego to match. people thought she was this extremely strong woman as she was built like a linebacker but totally false image and persona. she was very strong but not in a good way. she was a master manipulator though. you are supposed to be protecting your kids, not using them as a convenience.

she does deserve to burn in hell but since life is unfair, it wouldn't shock me at this point if the bitch is in heaven.

It probably depends on the type of crime you're looking at. Social and economic disadvantage, in particular, tends to produce more crime, and so do large disparities in wealth and income.

We have a national Racial Discrimination Act that outlaws discrimination on the grounds of race.

I'm not sure what you're referring to, specifically. Maybe you're suggesting that there are some racists in Australia. That is true. I think they are a minority.

Many Australians, myself included, disapprove strongly of our current government's treatment of asylum seekers. In a couple of years we will have another national election, after which some things might change.

Are you telling me you're a racist bigot because black people made you that way?

That is ironic because racists seem to me to be less civilized than normal people.

Don't push blacks only. I as a white in a South America country have been discriminated. Take notice discrimination in Europa. Again we all discriminate.

I think we can all agree that there is zero discrimination and racism on Europa.
