I'm talking about zombies, mostly but feel free to post whatever undead.... Anyway, I've been recently obsessed with horror movies and have always wondered what movies had the best rap sheet for "realistic" creatures. Then when I heard the word realistic come out of my mouth I couldn't stop laughing. What exactly are the traits of a realistic zombie, vampire, etc. in your opinion? Which movies portray these creatures best?
zombies - 28 days later i dunno why they take 28 days to die when they presumably have limited/zero food and water, or why they don't attack each other, but otherwise its plausible. vampires - interview with a vampire as soon as you're willing to accept we don't know the boundaries of reality (which i think most fantasy stories would have you believe) realism comes down to the way its told, whether its recognisably fiction or not. so thats why i chose IWV. i thought interview was more believable than realistic, the characters have depth and their motivations, reactions etc. seemed fitting and genuine. so despite being physically impossible it had many realistic elements within it.
so are you partially agreeing that IWV was the best telling of vampires? i agree. for a more entertaining one, wasn't there a movie with a vamp with two fucking huge teeth that just tore people apart?
i dunno, not that i can recall seeing. for entertaining vampires i'd say blade, vampire hunter d and twilight.
that was really out of context. i meant to be introducing werewolves into the conversation and said that the most entertaining werewolves were in dog soldiers
yeah i liked those too. heaps mainstream though, hollywood or whatever. between them and van helsing are the best werewolf fighting vampire scenes i've seen. van helsing was way better than i expected actually.
Yes, if you're going to grant the original premise, Anne Rice does the best job of portraying (get this) the sheer humanity of the vampire characters. Not to mention the underlying tones of sexuality and seduction, coupled with the allure of immortality and, for the most part, invulnerability. Her stories were complex and posses great depth, not with standing the "vampire" aspect. Part SciFi, part bodice ripper, and part soft core porn. What else could one want? (As a side note, for those not already familiar, Anne Rice does soft porn under the nom de plume of Anne Rampling.) Her novel, Belinda, is not to be missed by readers belonging to the group that some on this forum would accuse of ..... Oh, well, read the novel and you will get the point. Excellent work, for this genreā¦
Anyway, yeah, I've always liked those scary stories, too. They are amazing  You know, Freddi Cooger, blah blah blah, some of them get far too scary though as time goes on quite naturally.
Most politicans seem to be part of the "zombie" world because they only do what they want to us and don't really care.
man i am legend sucked, its zombies are straight out of 28 days later, just with different make up and a vampire clause.
but they didn't starve to death. Its like they were a whole new species of man who could think and plan
A species of man that can think? Holy shit, how'd that happen? Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
