Obviously the last line is false

At best the axe is a replica replacement which the grandson has imbued with memories of his grandfather

Maybe Roy's father replaced the handle on Roy's grandfathers axe and then Roy replaced the head on his grandfathers axe sometime after that.
There is nothing in the quote to indicate that the grandfather has passed/died and that Roy only has memories of him.
Ergo, it might still be Roy's grandfathers axe.

Hehe.....it sounds good but it's an odd thing to say. When you're die your memories only live on in the people who knew you. And they may remember you fondly. But for he who dies there is only total oblivion.

Well was a winner at moment of death and when he dies Number 2 with most good memories becomes Number 1

Like the oldest person alive, there is always a Number 2 ready to take over

These "Winner" types, more often than not, remind me of the following quote :
"If you could buy him for what he’s worth and sell him for what he thinks he’s worth, you’d be a rich man…" by Pit

"Evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts do not go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's, but apples did not suspend themselves in mid-air, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape-like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered"

Stephen Jay Gould, Evolution as Fact and Theory

"If money is your hope for independence you will never have it. The only real security that a man will have in this world is a reserve of knowledge, experience, and ability." -- Henry Ford

"Some even believe we are a part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as ‘internationalists’ and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure – one world, if you will. If that’s the charge, I stand guilty and I am proud of it." -- David Rockefeller, Memoirs.

"Love one another, but make not a bond
    of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between
    the shores of your souls.
Fill each other’s cup but drink not from
    one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat
    not from the same loaf.
Sing and dance together and be joyous,
but let each one of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone
though they quiver with the same music.

Give your hearts, but not into each
    other’s keeping."

    Kahlil Gibran

“The opinions that are held with passion are always those for which no good ground exists; indeed the passion is the measure of the holders lack of rational conviction. Opinions in politics and religion are almost always held passionately.”

"President Donald Trump said on Thursday that the new coronavirus would eventually be contained and "disappear" in the US, CNN reported.

"We have done an incredible job. We're going to continue," Trump said during a Black History Month reception at the White House. "It's going to disappear. One day it's like a miracle, it will disappear. And from our shores, you know, it could get worse before it gets better. Could maybe go away. We'll see what happens. Nobody really knows."

“We may be happy but just don’t know it yet. Many want to rebuke themselves for not finding the threshold of well being, since they simply haven’t learnt to be nice to themselves and to enjoy the privileged twinklings of life. ("C’est quand le bonheur ?" )”
