    Ok Folks,

You probably all watched the video on Youtube now and you would be right to do so

For the ones who haven't yet, you can click on the link below to watch the Pod in action :

The first time I watched this vid' my mind was totally blown away by the fact that there existed another species on Earth that was able to do this. Despite the fact that they used a quite complicated hydro-mechanical stratagem to get the seal, the minute 1:36 leaves no doubt (if there still were any) that they master perfectly their language and have a precise word to explain and execute the strategy as they all go together.

They would have had some little hands instead of fins that they would probably be refining this situation on an Internet forum...

    My 2 cents...

"During the filming of the third episode of the BBC documentary Frozen Planet (2011), a group of orcas were filmed trying to "wave wash"[14] the film crew's 18-foot zodiac boat as they were filming. The crew had earlier taped the group hunting seals in the same fashion. It was not mentioned if any of the crew were hurt in the encounter.[15] The crew described the orcas as being very tolerant of the film makers' presence. Over the course of 14 days they filmed over 20 different attacks on seals, many of which the film's series producer Vanessa Berlowitz describe as training exercises for the young calves in the group."

All of the cetaceans (baleen whales, toothed whales, dolphins and porpoises) are descended from ancient hippopotamuses. Apparently a group of them swam all the way down the river to the ocean, and decided that they liked it there. This is why the cetaceans and the artiodactyls (hooved mammals with an even number of toes) have been combined into a single taxon: Cetartiodactyla.

They gave up their hands (which were actually hooves) and feet (two more hooves which have completely atrophied and survive as small vestigial bones that are neither movable nor attached to anything) in order to have fins for swimming.

It seems to be working pretty well for them.

    True and well documented =]

Well, we both know that evolution does not work like that but we also often laugh (with friends) at "stories" applied to the evolution of species... =]

Hell yeah... (follow the eyes) =]
