Question....

I would like to know how I can block another member so they cannot send me messages in my inbox? Is that a normal block?

i for one, have no clue.
but what i do is just not read the messages.

Yes, just add them to your ignore list.

Its not as simple as that. Its a former member who may look for me here and I don't want to receive any messages from them. I'm blocking all ties and this is one of them.

 

If you access your Profiles:General Options
You can scroll down to the "Private Messaging" section. There is a number of options from turning off private messaging altogether to only allowing contacts (Friends list) and moderators to contact you.

It's really down to preference, using the Ignore list is a "Allow All, Deny ignored user" where the Contact list option is "Deny All, Allow Contacts".
