How about a Forum dedicated soley to Psychology and issues surrounding it. Issues concerning the mind that go beyond Philosophy to more empirical evidence of a scientific nature.

    Psychology, come on.

Reason being I think that the Human Science Forum is way to broad, having archaeology and psychology in the same place, just isn't cricket.

    I'd say yes.
However, I don't think there's much of a need. Human science is too broad a scope but it's not like it's overcrowded in there.

There is the possibility that having a seperate forum might inspire more threads on the topic though.

    I'll vote yes.

What is it that you expected from us, CM?
Your proposal was met with resounding
indifference, and the mods are to blame?

Most psychologists probably don't visit forums even though debate increases your ability to think rationally.

I don't think psychology is even that useful compared to philosophy. It can give answers to a few questions that philosophy can't, like how is the mind physically realized, but anything philosophy can answer would be more useful than psychology on the subject because people could use their first person experience to verify it. And I think there is plenty of information to answer 90% of what would be useful to know about consiousness through philosophy. It just needs to be sorted out.

    I'd be up for it.

Seems like it would be impossible to impose certain guidelines or regulations in the human science forum.

I disagree with kriminal99 about philosophy. I find philosophy asks a whole bunch of questions it cannot answer.

Psychology has actually answered some of these questions but philosophers continue
    to ask them.
Like "what is the purpose of life?" "Why do people do things they do?"
its like "What is the nature of conciousness?"
At least psychology can half answer that question.

Also philosophy employs very little scientific method.
Has there ever been a philosophy research/study?
