progression to the Latin alphabet

  1. As I read and see where the Greek alphabet developed from which is the Phoenician alphabet. It makes me wonder if there's some relation between the indo-european alphabets and the Asian alphabet because you go further back in time it begin t lo like it. For example, the Phoenician alphabet me looks like it can be somewhat related to the Chinese alphabet.

    There is no Chinese alphabet.

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The history of the alphabet begins in Ancient Egypt, more than a millennium into the history of writing. The first consonantal alphabet emerged around 2000 BCE to represent the language of Semitic workers in Egypt (see Middle Bronze Age alphabets), and was derived from the alphabetic principles of the Egyptian hieroglyphs. Nearly all alphabets in the world today either descend directly from this development or were inspired by its design.[1]
