the general attitude is apathy, i am busy, whatnot. can we, sciforumers that is, stand out? be a cut above the rest and whatnot. if a call to arms is issued, will you rise to the occasion and .... March! Protest! Boycott! will you guys take a stand for a worthwhile cause? (you of course decide based on your own notions of propriety and ethics) /hopeful heh The call to arms is restricted to Sciforums. /cackle virtual shit!
ahmn we dont have the freedom of using weapons for anything not here in australia we gotta do other things to make a stand is when brains verse enemies but ahm i guess other people in other countries do or on the black market so forth i cant vote i dunno anything bout much to do with weaponry we use em in fun activities like circuses and gun clubs not for killing or maming so i cant vote on sumthing i dunno bout wish i did know would be easier than using ur mind to get satisfaction and revenge so forth well good luck with that hope it turns out cause i saw the vote poll and looks like lots of people voted yes
ahh i almost missed it you troll hoping to incite sorry, i must decline its gotta be worth annnd......you are not ---------------------------------- thank you, donna read tp again and vote this is a feeler to gauge attitudes if you find a just cause, will you fight for it thru nonviolent means? if yes, vote yes. if no,........
Of course, if I think a cause is worthwhile I'll take a stand. The thing is that everyone has different ideas as to what is worthwhile.
so vote that you will. a poll with the actual issue (if any) will be availed to all. members then decide if the cause is worth it. the mode of protest is agreed upon. then execution. success is not guaranteed but you never know until you try now, about people power. power against what? who are we in opposition to? what might we be in opposition to? you do have an inkling, ja? so ahh you are a teenager? thats cos you look at it the wrong way. i think most understand in an implicit manner as to what constitutes an injustice. an easy way to find out is by applying that old hoary...the golden rule. do unto others as you would want others to do unto you. or variations thereof
Ignoring that.. I disagree. People don't make a stand because they don't think it's worth the trouble, meaning that they don't think the cause is worthwhile.
i agree with mine i agree with yours ja i tend to be nuanced like that a most unusual tendency i can add to your explanation by noting that the desired outcome plays a large part in participation. i refer the chances of succeeding in efforts. what does one have to show for it. legislation in your favor or a brutal beating by the cops and weeks in the slammer? as you might have noticed, the cop aka sam already tried the standard intimidatory tactics. she is no doubt suiting up as we speak /cackle
I thought it was do unto others first before they do it to you. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
That depends. What would you consider worthwhile? A mutiny? A torture chamber? Non ethical behavior?
look i will do the grunt work the opportunity i present to the community is available to all anyone of us can issue a call to arms. present your case. we judge worthiness. we participate on your behalf how can anyone have an issue with this? cosmic the dynamic remains within sci. how would a torture chamber be represented virtually?
ben /flummoxed alright, i'll spell it out. a variation of an actual scenario despite overwhelming community support for the right of reiku to post in phy, ben the mod dumps all in cess. the community stands behind reiku and boycotts phy. none of us will post in there until resolution. violence would have an analogy in .........? give it a go, ben now, envisage a scenario with your stand. it is not workable in this context, i think. lemme quote post that justified this thread
What right? Just a question...when was the last time you did anything but troll in the physics forum? \agrees
