Before reading this thread, my opinion was that children should not act sexy. I tried to find reasons for why I am having this opinion, but I couldn't find any. I guess it's just something my parents tought me. Can anyone please answer the following question for me with common sense (so no religion bullshit)

What exactly is wrong about children acting sexy?

How would children 'act sexy'? What age children are you talking about?

I am talking about the first few pages at which the subject changes to why it is bad that children (age maybe 12 and up) wear sexy clothing as a result of having seen their idols on tv with sexy clothing.

For example someone posted this picture as an example somewhere at the starting of this thread.

The girls in the picture are 16 and are not overtly sexy; just fashionable. I guess boys between 14 and 18 might find them sexy though.

I can't for the life of me find girls of 12 and thereabouts 'sexy', even if they happen to be wearing bikinis, some are attractive and potentially sexy yes, but you know, a few years down the line.

In reply to the original question, I'd say it's because pornography is stimulating to so many people that it's being condemned. Pornography has a profound effect that touches a deep, primal urge to go fuck a fellow human.

We don't like some external source pulling our strings like that. Oh no. We love to believe we're in power, that we're in control and that nothing and no one but we are our own master.

That's why, when something punctures that self-deluded illusion of power, like being turned on by porn beyond your control, wounded self-pride turns to a scapegoat and pornography, being the "culprit", is labelled as immoral.

It also explains why we flip out when we see even a hint of portrayal of gay/lesbian lifestyles on TV. We don't like how "those people" live, and when we see them we're constantly reminded of how we don't have control over them so that we can put a stop to it. It's all about control and power. We're reminded of our lack of power when we see two wo/men kissing or holding hands, and so we like to exercise our pathetic self-deluded fantasies of "I am in control and my little world is all the better for it" on our children and sue the networks when they dare imply that homosexuality isn't wrong.

That is why all these stuffy old mid-life crisis losers campaign and campaign against pornography, homosexuality, (sometimes) atheism, Harry Potter books, and all the other "wicked" and "immoral" elements in society that "must be purged and stamped out for the good of society and our innocent young children! God forbid they see those horrid fags and think it isn't wrong to be like them! I SHALL PURGE THEM WITH THE POWER OF CHRIST!"

I don't know about you, but I'd like those stuffy old mid-life crisis losers to just shut up, mellow out and smoke some :m: .
