That's nice that the Robin chose your area to make a nest. I guess there aren't many trees around that the Robin thinks is as good of a location to put its nest as where it did. You are very lucky to have the Robin choose where it did so that you could view it and what it does. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! They seem to make a nest there every year. The grate they are on produces heat, so it is probably nice and cozy. We have another nest up really high near the roof, but it is chickadees. I can only get a picture from down below so you can't see much. It is kinda cool watching what they are doing all day. I will take more pictures as they mature. How did you get that pic without pissing them off to where they're dive-boming ya?! I'm guessing from a decent distance?
I think the camera has 8X zoom. Anyone know why they eat their babies shit? lol I'm guessing the chicks don't take in all the nutrients and its like bird recycling or something.
I have to look that up and read why they actually eat the shit right out of their babies butt....YUCK. Taking a guess at it, I said that if they didn't the nest would be full of shit and the baby birds stuck and lost in it all. Anyone know the EXACT reason? I don't have time to look it up now.
I took this pitcher wit a video camera so the quality ant very good... but its 4 baby robins in a nest wit ther beaks stickin up.!!! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
