My Son, knowing my general interest in science just down-loaded a film/documentary re the LHC which I assume many here interested in science would enjoy.
I was unaware of its existence.

Some short videos at the link, giving brief rundowns......
No I havn't watched it as yet [except a trailer] but will certainly be doing that tomorrow or Wednesday.

OK, just finished watching this totally enthralling 96 minute doc/film on the LHC, the first start up, the false alarms, and the final discovery of the Higgs at 125Gev.
This film touches on all aspects of the participating particle physicists, theoretical and experimental, the human frailties and expectations, the aspects of the public media and addressing the misconceptions, and how at the energies of 125Gev, it hovered half way between the SUSY predicted 115Gev and the multiple Universes at 145Gev.

If you havn't already seen it, I highly recommend you do.....particularly the "Aha, it's only a theory" brigade, and others that are not privileged as to how science works, and the dedication and hard yakka of those at the coal front.

Just giving this a kick along......
A great little doco/film on the work up to and including the discovery of the Higgs and what it means.
Should be able to down load the video at....

Quite a revealing and enthralling production.
