The humanitarian tragedy continues. But as long as at US insistence, the 'Taliban" a "great danger" to global security is engaged and routed, 2 million displaced civilians are utterly unimportant.

Further information regarding the destabilization of Pakistan.

US-NATO Agenda: The Destabilization of Pakistan.

(Gary Leupp is Professor of History at Tufts University, and Adjunct Professor of Religion. - http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=13782)

The question of course is, when will this madness end?

Yes, StrawDog, it is indeed tragic what the Taliban have wrought in their war against the west and modernity.

Instead of inane babbling, you would do well to ingest the information provided, so that your understanding of the scenario improves.

Unfortunately, the US & Co. are so blind in their aggression towards achieving: "The New American Century" paradigm, that they WILL eventually bite off more than they can chew.

I initially had hopes that Obama would make a difference, but I have yet to see any clear evidence of his sincerity in ANY peace or reconciliation initiative.

This is may be a bit out of subject but it presents a good example of who really is behind the violences which erupt in such countries.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohammed_Mosaddeq

This story will give an insight to those who call our claims that U.S. is the secret hand behind most atrocities and violence in the region (including the killing of Rafik Hariri, bombings in Irak and Pakistan,...) paranoia.

The story dates back to half century ago, so no surprise if newer tecniques may have been developed since then (I read somewhere that a British university study showed most of civil violence and bombings in Iraq which killed the civilians were funded and engineered by the U.S.)

Read specially the part which mentions who was behind the civil unrests in that era.

    Some quotes from there:

Were you typing at the time?

The US had no interest in fomenting violence in Iraq. The fact that US money, weapons, and policy contributed greatly to it is more likely incompetence than plot - a peaceful and supine, conquered Iraq, with an economy completely open to multinational corporate interests, with its vast and market-dominant oil deposits under US-allied corporate control, and without violent interference in the corporate exploitation of its people or resources, is far more obviously the goal of any plotting or scheming by US interests.

And how would the U.S. make sure the Iraqi gıvernment with a Shiite majority and sunni members who hate the U.S. will let its reservers be under U.S. control? How would the U.S. make sure a shiite-domiated government in Iraq will not try to turn it into a second Iran, and a sunni-dominated government will not kick all international oil companies out. There was no way a kurdish-dominated government take the rule in Iraq or the Kurds establish an independent state given the harsh objection inside and outside. So, the most viable way was to weaken all parties objecting to the U.S. policies through inernal violence and at the same time strengthen the Kurds militarily and economically.

rise up, noble ones and kill em all

We the Peaceful Baloch people are facing massive human rights violations just for forceful displacement from our ancestral homeland. Rulers from one dominating province Punjab need our lands, coasts and natural resources. They are crushing Baloch people by army and other forces. They have created a general atmosphere of harassment and insecurity. Jumping in our homes in the middle of night, arresting people with out warrants, taking them blind fold to unknown places, torturing them brutally is an every day practice her

who here in sci will support us in our struggle?

You realize that the US created the conditions for 1. The initial mosque attack, and 2. The response by the villagers?

This is called, as the thread title indicates - "Destabilization & Division". Divide and conquer. Thanks for illustrating the success thereof.

It was called "Shock and Awe". All the Iraqis except a few Saddam sympathizers were going to welcome the US forces as liberators; and from being jolted into a new world, completely suggestible and manipulable from the destruction of the old, accept the US installed government as their own - until they became capable of handling democracy, of course, at some future time chosen by the US allied government.

No one ever said the guys who planned this were competent.

Your evaluation of the possible response of the Iraqi people is similar in essence to the one believed by everyone to be believed by the Bush administration years after it proved wrong. It also shows how little you know about the people of Mid-East. Even a would be wholesome welcome gesture by all Iraqi factions immediately after the toppling of Saddam Hussain, would not at all mean they would tolerate a christian army on their land, or a foreign control of their resources. I claims that the U.S. strategists knew this fact very well, and that's why they created the internal conflicts and violence to make ground as an excuse for a long-term deployment in Iraq and/or control of its resources.

The latest incident due to engineering division in Pakistan. Before the drones and US intervention, there was no such thing whatsoever.

Indeed. The Western POV is sadly flawed.

A recent exposure by the king of aggression, admitting to false pretexts for invasion, and thus no logical reason to expect an Iraqi welcome.

Wow, resistance to tyranny can lead to violence on the part of the tyrants, who would have thought?

Once again. Divide and conquer. Engineered by US & Co. You seem to struggle with this concept. Oh well.
