Alex Stamos, the former Facebook executive who is now director of Stanford University’s Internet Observatory, said he contacted Voxility on Twitter after finding information online that 8chan-host Epik was renting Voxility’s servers and subleasing them to its own customers.

“The fact that legitimate tech companies are supporting 8chan makes it less likely that private industry can take care of itself, but legislation will be worse than private action,” said Mr. Stamos, adding that he is concerned about governments outside the U.S. putting undue curbs on free speech.

I'm not at all familiar with 8chan, but it's hard to believe that reputable tech companies would wish to have anything to do with it, especially in light of the recent mass shootings.

Right wingers will use this as "evidence" that the "deep state" is trying to quash Qanon, the Incel movement and other right wing extremist organizations.

So, basically 8chan is a forum/site that is a haven for right wing extremists and ''incels'' to vent their hatred of the left and women? And also spew their racist rhetoric without reproach? Fingers crossed that this site's service gets permanently terminated.

imagine for a moment it is a Islamic hate speech site
instead its a Nazi hate speech site

now that site is run by an american
who doesn't live in America but gets paid by the American government(superannuation/financing terrorists) in a foriegn country

where is the information being stored and organized ?
    inside US soil
    not a simple pay-per-play
but instead a racketeering subleasing price gouging way in a free market.
now the university ceo is making public statements decrying government regulation and suggesting he will play the hero role by removing the price gouging process from the university companys server system.

there will be a lot of students wanting to know why their university has been allowing price gouging racketeering to service nazis web sites.

least of which incel which goes directly against the university equal rights policy.

as to the being a nazi ... in the usa its ok to be a nazi(so they say)
    ...
why does everyone have to make it soo hard to be a nazi
why cant i just do what i want

    ...
    uummm... ?
