I met my finnish girlfriend on the net (not on a dating service or chat room however). We had a beautiful relationship for 5 years. I think we were succesful because even on the internet we were dead honest about everything. There are lots of fakers out there though.
Hey computer nerd don't always look all that bad (quickly look at himself in a mirror) erm... NM jkjk a/w why is this in the cesspool
Online dating is okay, I have a girlfriend in New York right now. But we just call it long-distance relationships, not online dating.
I am leery when it comes to online dating. I am one of the dying breed who believes that relationships should be kept to face to face, not online. The whole notion of it disturbes me.
Well, I usually meet a girl online, then we usually talk for some time to ensure that we have simmilar interests. Then exchange pictures. Or the other way around -> first exchange pictures. Then we meet offline.
Meeting people online is so much easier than in real life elsewhere. 1st of all, the exchange of contacts stage is already done (woohoo!). Second of all, people somehow open up more online and in writing, than in person. Writing is magical. It's like revisiting that old-fashioned way of meeting future spouses, the way people met through letters sent into distant countries.... So romantic! But much faster!
