All right! Someone else who recognizes that Sabbath's golden age was their last albums with Ozzy, not "War Pigs." "Technical Ecstasy" is my favorite.

    Anyone ever hear-

    Gimme Shelter

    by:

    Grand Funk Railroad.

Almost as good as the original, it is different for sure. Too bad so far i have only heard it as an mp4.

Resurrection by Common, Midnight Marauder by A Tribe Called Quest, and Herbie Hancocks' Headhunter I'm listening to today. Classics IMO.

Haven't heard it. Is it online somewhere? For another cover of that tune that's very faithful to the original, nonetheless spooky in its differences, see if you can find the Divine Horsemen, an L.A. post-punk band of the early 1980s. They have a male and female lead, so the "ooh ooh" part is more prominent and more eerie. The guitarist also adds his own feeling to the tune without being disrespectful. I imagine the first time anybody in the biz heard this band, they said, "You guys were born to play 'Gimme Shelter'."

The Sisters of Mercy on the other hand, one of my favorite bands, ruined it. My friends' bar band does it better.
