Thought I would start this thread to let members show (boost) details of their holiday

To inject some Science into the thread I hope you detail how you arrived at your holiday location

    My example

    I flew here by aircraft

    Science

There appears to be different theories as to why aircraft fly

While I am happy that they do and not to perturbed about why my hope is that the person in charge of the Universe

    doesn't wake up

sees the aircraft in which I am a passenger

    decides the aircraft violates physics

and promptly lands the plane regardless of where it is

Can anyone provide a definitive reason why planes fly?

My holiday is in Bali for 25 days and the photo is of a float which took part in the Nyepi day ceremony

A popular explanation of lift is to refer to Bernouilli’s Principle which connects high velocity to low pressure and say that because the velocity of air on top of the wing is bigger than the below, the pressure on top will be smaller than below and thus create lift, which is the message in

    2.4. Coanda Effect
The Coanda effect is the tendency of a fluid jet to be attracted to a nearby surface as in the kitchen sink experiment with the cylinder being pulled to the left by the deviation of fluid flow which appears “to be sticking” to the cylinder surface:
