I think the old testament is more credible than the new testament.

In the old testament no one claims to be god or a close relation as far as I am aware.

In fact I can't think of much in the old testament that is not pretty close to the truth and any problems probably have arisen when it was being edited.

I only said pretty close to the truth...but there must be something in it as men have one rib less than women.

I think you missed the point.
This is not true. The testament is wrong.

No what was missed was my attempt at humour.

OK then men and women have twelve pairs of ribs each, both the same, one small point where the old testament was wrong.

It was believed by many once that there was a difference and then someone called upon the facts to destroy a great story.

I mentioned before why bother editting

Start a brand spanking NEW NEW Testament

We could claim to have been given a Bible never been seen before

    Obtain a crystal ball

Put the ball in a dark place, like inside a hat, to make the translations clearer

    Sell it to the masses

    Oh wait that's been done

    How about....?

    No that's been done also

    Jesus on / in toast?

    Done already?

I see no large credibility gap comparing Old and New Testaments. I would favor the New Testament due relevance.
But when Jesus called himself the son of God, while calling others the sons and daughters of God, I see no difference nor claim to special divinity. And since most scholars agree that the teachings of Jesus were influenced by Eastern religion/philosophy, it's not a very remarkable claim.

Cite, please - where in either of the Testaments is there any claim/statement that men and women have a differing amount of ribs - please?

In addition, please Cite any recorded historical instance/example to back up your own claim/statement : "It was believed by many once that there was a difference ...", please?

I missed the meaning of your earlier request.
I took it that you wanted me to support the alleged difference in rib number by reference to something like a medical journal.
I can't give a reference to the difference being referred to in the bible as I don't have a bible before me but suspect already I may not find anything.
You have me on toast unless someone can save me.
And so I wonder where I picked up such a notion.
I am not going to even try to defend my claim and admit it was of on the top of my head.
And again I wonder where I got that from.
All I can think is maybe Sunday school.
    Thanks for keeping me honest.

Apparently you have not read the prophecy in Isaiah Ch 53 and the suffering of Jesus. In Matthew 26 and 27

In the beginning the earth was covered with water. God separated waters and established dry land, and ordered to produce vegetation and it was so. And from there evolution have taken place.

I think you folks are missing the point of the two books . The book's purpose is to create a path for man to have Harmony man to God and man to man .
But man did not wanted to follow the path and followed its own desires , and so the consequence of that we have wars and other destructions.
