Excellent! This protest was a blow struck for freedom. See, this is one of the most surprising (and to me, troubling) asepcts of modern society's attitudes toward sex: stuff that used to be obscene becomes normal, and stuff that used to be norma becomes obscene.
I'd rather breeders didn't clog up shopping malls with their brats and pushchairs, but as they have to shop like normal people, I guess they also have to feed their spawn, so I have no problem with them doing that however they deem fit.

yeah, breastfeeding is obscene. But the strange thing is, of course, that it was once considered normal, then it was made 'obscene' and now we are going back. Just relax. Nothing bad happens if you let women breast feed in public.
I don't know, I'm not that old, and I'm not a breeder, and have no interest in the history of child raising. I dare say though, that as trends go, it was probably common place for women to breast feed in public in less civilised times, then we probably got prissy about it, and now are coming to the conclusion that there's nothing that offensive about it. It's probably just christian repuglicans that are offended, and they can go f*ck themselves anyway.
Sorry, I was being ironic. The person I quoted was speaking generally but they meant to include breastfeeding amongst things 'that have become normal'. I thought if I wrote out their postion clearly, that breastfeeding was obscene, perhaps they would realize how foolish that sounded. I did have a nagging thought that someone might take my statement seriously despite the rest of my post. For the record: Nothing obscene about it. I think it should be allowed in public. I have lived in places where it was defacto legal - I have no idea if the laws permitted it there, but many women did it - and it just seemed fine to me. I experienced a tiny bit of nervousness, because I was curious, but then my curiousity meant I was looking at a woman's breast. But to legislate against something that makes me a little nervous, once or twice, is ludicrous. Especially since I can easily work through that myself. Thus As I said above.

The people who profit from porn introduce bizzare acts into society as part of their regular business. It's basically just normal Hollywood junk with genitals and is only dangerous in that it preys on people who are lonely and dysfunctional. So you view a baby as a sexual object Baron? Interesting. Surely you aren't that much of a simpleton to not know that the female breast is specifically for feeding her offpspring? You do know this don't you? So what do you think women should do? Feed her child artificial milk (formula) which does not even come close to being as good as breastmilk? And Baron, women breastfeeding is not something that only existed in ancient human history or in uncivilised society. Ask your momma how she fed you, and I'd be willing to bet you were "sucking on her tits" for your sole food source after your birth. Breastfeeding is perfectly normal. It is only in the US that women have tended to feed their children formula. Most European women, for example, don't have an issue with breastfeeding. But then again, they are a lot more open about nature than the US is. Lets not forget the US is regressing in so many ways. And it has only been of late that women have been encouraged to breastfeed their children because it is so beneficial to said child to be breastfed. The "tits" are there for a purpose and that purpose is not for your sexual fantasy but to actually feed the woman's offspring. If you look at a newborn baby, its first instinct when held by the mother is to turn its head to suckle. Like all mammals. As they say, you need to teach a child to drink from a bottle but drinking from the breast, it is done by pure instinct. What makes you think that women who breastfeed are returning to the Stone Age? Oh, because they are breastfeeding? Do you try to sound this stupid or does it come naturally? And where in the "more civilised societies" do you see women walking around with their naked "tits hanging out" when they shop? I take it you aren't advanced enough to realise that there is a whole range of clothing specifically designed for nursing mothers. Twit. Again Baron, womens boobs do not exist to please you sexually. They exist to feed their offspring. Now you might view a baby nursing from its mother as a sexual object, but that's just you and a small minority of perverts out there.
Women never showed their legs in public before. Men wore bathing suits, that were, well, more like suits. Much of what we wear today and assume is normal would have been considered shameful and in many cases illegal. Times change. It's like you woke up today (or perhaps in the middle of the 50s) assumed that small town american in the 1950s was normal and anything else is an outrage.
