Apparently, they were already getting wounded and dying in combat anyway. The situation was a bit like pretending that there were no gay people in the military during the "don't ask, don't tell" era.
Not meaning to offend too many, but I've always considered women to be a wee bit crazy. Maybe if we had allowed women to go all PMS on the Taliban years ago the death tolls would be much better than 10:1 in our favor. Perhaps my judgement is flawed, or there is something different in the Canadian water, but deep down they are all insane. It didn't take any rational thought to come to this, but the fact that women were getting stuck in combat situations anyway, and doing well at it. Ask any gamers whether or not women are good at combat. The ones that look for it are quite skilled. I think we should let them serve in any job position they can handle. And we should stop causing wars that are cause for any sex to die in.

Thus foreign cultures seem stranger than they are, and in the case of men and women, biology dictates certain fundamental differences in the bases of conflict underlying the neurotic complexes while culture further conditions those differences and our perceptions thereof. One could thus say, colloquially, that if women seem insane it is because they are. So are we men. It's a different form of crazy, though, which is why it sticks out. Kind of like someone who listens to popular country and western music complaining that all rap sounds the same.
I really don't think all women are X and all men are Y when it comes to mental faculties. Heck we can't even be sure all women have X and all men have Y physically what with intersex people merging the division.
Want to and Actually doing it are very different things. Look at women in the army now, what do majority of them do? Hospital.
This is an idiotic statement. Plenty of women are in combat roles as we speak. Their designation has been officially "support," but that hasn't stopped them from being on the front lines.
Women have been in the front lines for a very long time. Ask the Germans in WW2 what they thought of facing the Russian female brigades. And while we're there, The White Rose.
Since the American armned forces are ALL VOLUNTEER it would then be up to each woman to join if they want to and when enlisting they could then also CHOOSE to go onto the front lines. Just because you open a front door doesn't mean that everyone will use it, they can CHOOSE to use another door..
But anyone who enters the military can make certain choices , not in times of war, but they do have some leeway to get a career going in many fields other than combat alone.
Little bit of doubt as to their existence. So why bother, when there are examples less than a hundred years back? Not to mention the Israelis. But everybody can identify with a bit of the old Dubblya Dubblya Too.
lol why is it that when men die in combat, that elicits national pride. but when women die in combat, its something to be pitied and looked upon as avoidable. Either way, if you focus on petty sex differences, I think you're missing the point-- that someone died.
I do not recall ever thinking that there was any differences in who died for as you said a death happened.
trust me thousand of men die in war everyday and no one remembers them, forget about some sort of national pride.

Notice that a women would score 100 (the highest score) for a time that would be barely passing for a male. A female running a 16:00 scores a 95, whereas a male running the same time fails. For push ups it's even worse. A male has to do 42 push ups just to pass, a female doing 42 push ups scores the highest score! Will the enemy fight less hard when facing a female? Why are the standards different? I have no problem with females being in the military, but they should meet all the same standards as their male colleagues.
does anyone think more men will die trying to save the women? I really don't see them treating the women the same as the other male soldiers and what does happen when they get their period? Do they pull over to the side of the road so she can change her pad?
