    Helo

I have a few questions on 'afterlife figures' (no, I'm not talking bout the afterlife itself)
Why is it that some afterlife figures have something to do with farmery (okay, bad term)? Think:
    1) Grim reaper's schyte = the harvesting schyte
    2) And don't forget that the devil is often portrayed with a pitchfork....

    I don't know about the devil's pitchfork.

I do have a take on the Grim Reaper's scythe.

I think it (and his name) probably comes from that old expression, "You reap what you sow".
In other words, you get out of this life what you put into it.
If you plant crap, you will harvest crap.
If you plant positivity, you will benefit by harvesting positivity.

When death comes for you, you have run out of time to sow your seeds and it is time for reckoning.

Sort of the "Western" version of Karma.

Devil's usually shown with a trident, a three-pointed spear, not a pitchfork, unless you've seen a picture I haven't. No clue what it means.

Perhaps the trident is the Devil's weapon against mankind.

The three spears of the trident represent the three facets of the Christian Trinity.

The real supreme power is the Devil, and he wields the weapon he manufactured, comprised of Christianty, to rule and debase mankind.

    Ya think?

This is interesting because even in hinduism, Shiva - the god of destruction, and one of the trinity of the most powerful gods carries a three speared trident.

You think Shiva created Christianity as his menas of destruction of mankind?

There are quite a few similarities between the two religions and their respective beings of worship.

    Brahma the Generator or creator.
    God the creator.

    Shiva the Destroyer.
The Holy Ghost is who will destroy mankind at the end (don't flame for the semantics of that, I am tired)

    Vishnu the Organizer or preserver.
Jesus, the one who is supposed to tend the flock and show them the way to heaven.

Jesus and Krishna (Vishnu's tenth incarnation) have MANY similarities.

    The list just starts there.

    hmmmmm....
I will have to think on this some.

Another thing about the trinity in hinduism is that there's liberal interchanging of roles and responsibilities. Shiva is the destroyer, but it is Vishnu who, in his 10th avatar as Kalki ends Kali Yuga and destroys all the evil in the world.

Krishna wasn't the 10th avatar as far as i know. Kalki is.

  13. The death spectre is customarily pictured as a "reaper" bearing a scyth since he cuts one down and harvests one's soul as a farmhand would collect stalks of grain.

Actually, depending on how you interpret the Vedic teachings, he COULD be considered an alien.

Add another notch for your theory.

Does it mean that religious people believe that devil really supports blasphemy?
