i dont think its harmful, some nigger jokes are funny, people like the irish, welsh, and jewish have all had jokes made about them!

 

I must take issue with you on that. The racists I have come across have very little intelligence. Deep down a lot of them know this and compensate for their ignorance be finding a group to look down on. It makes them feel better.

I would say a racist is an insult to the rest of humanity.

Agreed, I would say that a large percentage would have had little or no (personel) intergration with the race that they were trying to belittle, or attack (perhaps primal instinct in fear of the unknown?).
Racism is also an embarassment to members of their fellow race, perhaps it is the difference between the 'cultured' and 'uncultured', that classes the racist element of society.

there is a big difference between good tasting, and bad tasting humour,

and with Jokes there generaly intelligent witty and with humourous intent as opposed to, unfunny,no puchline and no more than a statement of racist content with malicious intent

I don't wish to extend this ad nauseam but racists are not even integrated with their own race. They are a splinter group whose views are not taken seriously by any but others of their kind.

 

well...I can't entirely agree with the intergration as you have racist's at all levels of society, in all social classes and circles, the extremist's/splinter group would keep their socialising amongst people of the same view as It would be a way of life opposed to a view of life.
It is all about decorum if you have an extreme view and want to get your point across,action and perception.

 

Personally, I find jokes about babies being cut up far more disturbing and unethical.

I personally dont find those jokes to be funny, but I thought that the offensive jokes thread was about offensive jokes /shrug ....if you dont like that thread dont pick through it to find stuff that offends you, just avoid it.

Obviously some people find them funny (your opinion is not equal to what it really is - judging from your statement you seem to assume it is though), hence them being in that thread, and it being a popular thread too. BTW, in that thread, everyone is made fun of.
