http://www.spartechsoftware.com/dimensions/aliens/UFOWashington.htm excerpt: Radar Warnings In the summer of 1952, Washington National Airport and Andrews Air Force Base became quite alarmed when radar picked up several flying objects over Washington D.C. Even more alarming, coordinates indicated that he objects were flying directly over the White House and the United States Capitol. Around midnight on July 19, 1952, radar operators at Washington National Airport noted several 'blips' on the radar over Washington D.C. (15 miles from the Washington National airport). These objects appeared to be traveling at 100 to 130 m.p.h. and would then suddenly accelerate to unbelievable speeds - sometimes in excess of 7,200 m.p.h. Washington National radar operators immediately contacted a local radio operator who confirmed that he too was tracking the objects. With two confirmations in hand they decided to further clarify the situation with Andrews Air Force Base. Washington Tower: Andrews Tower, do you read? Did you have an airplane in sight west-northwest or east of your airport moving east-bound? Andrews: No, but we just got a call from the center. We're looking for it. Washington: We've got a big target showing up on our scope. He's just coming in on the west edge of your airport-the northwest edge of it eastbound. He'll be passing right through the northern portion of your field on an east heading. He's about a quarter of a mile from the northwest runway-right over the edge of your northwest runway now. Andrews: What happened to your target now? Washington: He's still eastbound. He went directly over Andrews Fields and is now five miles east. Andrews: Where did he come from? Washington: We picked him up ourselves at about seven miles east, slightly southeast, and we have been tracking him ever since then. The Center has been tracking him farther than that. Andrews: Was he waving his course? Washington: Holding steady course, due east heading. Andrews: This is Andrews. Our radar tracking says he's got a big fat target out here northeast of Andrews. He says he's got two more south of the field. Washington: Yes, well the center has about four or five around the Andrews Range station. The Center is working a National Airlines - the center is working him and vectoring him around his target. He went around Andrews. He saw one of them - looks like a meteor. (Garbled)..Went by him..or something. He said he's got one about three miles off his right wing right now. There are so many targets around here it is hard to tell as they are not moving very fast. Andrews: What about his altitude? Washington: Well, must be over 8,000 feet as we don't have him in radar any more. --------------------------------------------- http://www.project1947.com/fig/1952d.htm PROJECT 1947 July 1952 - Washington, D.C., Area Radar-Visual Sightings and Related Events. Codes: AFOSI - Air Force Office of Special Investigations report, from Project Blue Book files, National Archives microfilm collection. AF Int - Air Force Intelligence Report, most obtained by Citizens Against UFO Secrecy via the Freedom of Information Act, declassified Jan. 1985. UFOE - The UFO Evidence, National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena, Washington, D.C., May 1964. (NICAP) CAA - Civil Aeronautics Administration (later FAA, Federal Aviation Admin.) ARTC - Air Route Traffic Control radar center approach-control radar, CAA. (Note: Though Eastern Daylight Savings Time (EDT) was in effect during these sightings, AFOSI reports used Eastern Standard time. They have been converted to EDT here.) July 13: 0400 EDT. National Airlines plane en route to National Airport, about 60 mi. SW of the city observed a blue- white ball of light hovering to the west. Object then "came up to 11,000 ft. [and] then maintained a parallel course, on the same level, at the same speed, until the aircraft pilot turned on all lights. Object then departed from the vicinity at an estimated 1000 m.p.h. Weather was excellent for observation." The crew said the object "took off up and away." No other air traffic was reported in the area at the time. (AF Int.) July 14: 2012 EDT. Newport News, Va. Southbound Pan American Airways plane at 8,000 ft. nearing the Norfolk, Va, area observed six glowing red, circular objects approaching below the airliner; objects flipped up on edge in unison and then sped from behind and under the airliner and joined the in-line formation, which "climbed in a graceful arc above the altitude of the airliner." "Then the lights blinked out one by one, though not in sequence." Next day the crew was thoroughly interrogated by AFOSI, and advised that they already had seven other reports of red discs moving at high speed and making sharp turns. (UFOE, p. 38-39.) July 16: 2200 EDT. Hampton Roads, Va. A Government aeronautical research engineer observed two amber-colored lights approaching from the south at about 500 m.p.h. These slowed and made a U-turn, revolved around each other at a high rate of speed, then joined by two other objects from different directions, the four sped off to the south at about 500 m.p.h. "They moved jerkily when moving slowly. Their ability to make tight circling turns was amazing." (UFOE, p. 57; Ruppelt , p. 210-211, gives time as 2100 hrs.) July 18: 0200 EDT Washington, D. C. Radio station chief engineer observed 6-7 bright orange discs moving in single file. Each in turn veered sharply upward and disappeared. (UFOE, p. 160; Associated Press story, July 19.) July 19: 2340 EDT. ARTC at National Airport began picking up unidentified targets on radar. (UFOE, p. 160; AFOSI; Ruppelt, p. 211) July 20: 0100 EDT. Herndon, Va. Capital Airlines flight from National Airport called by control tower to check on unidentified radar targets saw three objects, and three more between there and Martinsburg, W. Va. "like falling stars without tails [which] moved rapidly up, down, and horizontally. Also hovered." Chief CAA air traffic controller Harry Barnes later said in a newspaper interview: "His [the pilot's] subsequent description of the movement of the objects coincided with the position of our pips [radar targets] at all times while in our range." (UFOE, p. 159; AFOSI; CAA evaluation report on radar-UFO sightings.) July 20: 0105 EDT. Andrews AFB, Md. (Nr. Washington, D.C.). Five witnesses visually observed three reddish-orange objects moving erratically. (AFOSI.) July 20: 0300 EDT. Capital Airlines flight incoming to National Airport reported that an unidentified light followed his airliner from the vicinity of Herndon, Va., to within about 4 miles west of the airport, confirmed on ARTC radar. (AFOSI; UFOE, p.159.) July 20: 0430-0630 EDT. Additional unidentified targets on ARTC radar at National Airport. (AFOSI.) July 20: mid-evening. Air Force radar operators at Andrews AFB weather tower tracked 10 UFOs for 15-20 minutes. Objects approached runway, scattered, made sharp turns and reversals of direction. (UFOE, p.160, based on detailed report to NICAP from AF weather observer.) July 25: July 26: 2115 EDT (to 0020 EDT July 27). Sharp UFO targets on ARTC radar at National Airport. Civilian pilots saw glowing white objects on four occasions, including a United Airlines pilot near Herndon, Va., and two CAA pilots over Maryland. National Airlines pilot near Andrews AFB at 1700 ft. saw a UFO "flying directly over the airliner." (AFOSI; AF Int; UFOE, p. 159-162; Ruppelt, p. 218-221.) July 26: 2130 EDT. ARTC radar at National airport tracked a UFO on radar ("big target"), confirmed by Andrews AFB radar. (AF Int.) July 26: 2150 EDT. ARTC radar at National Airport tracked "solid returns" of "four targets in rough line abreast," and eight others scattered over the radar scope. (AF Int.) July 26: 2154 EDT. Andrews AFB, Md., surveillance radar tracked 10-12 UFOs in Washington, D.C. area. (AFOSI.) July 26: 2157 EDT. Wash. Natl [ ] 10-12 objs on radar (AFOSI) July 26: 2215 EDT. [*] From this time into following morning, "good sharp targets" of 4-8 UFOs on ARTC radar at National Airport. (AFOSI.) July 26: 2238 EDT. Air Force Command Post notified of unidentified radar targets. Two F-94 jet interceptors scrambled from New Castle AFB, Delaware, to investigate. (AF Int, AFOSI.) July 26: 2304 EDT. 2323 EDT. July 27: 0015 EDT. Maj. Fournet (Project Blue Book Officer in Pentagon) and Lt. Holcomb (Navy electronics expert) arrived at National Airport ARTC Center. Observed "7 good, solid targets." Holcomb checked on temperature inversions, but they were minor and could not explain what was going on. He so advised AF Command Post, requesting interception mission. By the time the F-94 jets arrived from Delaware, no strong unidentified targets remained and no visual contacts were made. (AF Int.) July 27: 0020 EDT. [*] F-94 jet interceptors scrambled from New Castle AFB, Del., to investigate Washington, D.C., radar- UFOs. One F-94 pilot made visual contact and appeared to be gaining on target; both F-94 and UFO were observed on radar and "appeared to be travelling at the same approximate speed." When the F-94 pilot tried to overtake the UFO, it disappeared visually and on radar. The pilot remarked about the "incredible speed of the object." (AFOSI.) July 27: 1930 EDT. Air Force Lieutenant at Andrews AFB saw a dark disc moving slowly northeast with "oscillating rolling motion." Clouds were moving southeast. UFO entered base of clouds. (UFOE, p. 161, from CAA report.) July 27: 2100 EDT. Air Force personnel and others at National Airport saw a large round object reflecting sunlight, apparently hovering over the Capital Building. After about a minute, the object "wavered then shot straight up disappearing from sight." (AF Int.) July 28: Daily papers headlined a United Press story from Washington, D.C., that the Air Defence Command had ordered its jet pilots to pursue, and if necessary "shoot down, " UFOs sighted anywhere in the country. July 29: 0130-0500 EDT. Many unidentified targets tracked by CAA radar, 8-12 on the radarscope at a time, moving southeast in a belt 15 miles wide near Washington, D.C. (CAA report.) July 29: 0300 EDT. Eastern Airlines pilot asked to check on ARTC radar targets, reported seeing nothing. CAA official said the targets disappeared from the radar screen when the plane was in their area, "then came back in behind him." (UFOE, p.162) July 29: 1500 EDT. Air Force pilot sighted three round white UFOs 10 miles southeast of Andrews AFB. Other UFOs tracked by ARTC radar during the afternoon. (CAA report.) July 29: 1600 EDT. Air Force press conference at which the sightings were attributed to temperature inversions causing "radar mirages," typically ground lights reflected in the sky under freak atmospheric conditions. Also announced new scientific program to evaluate sightings. (UFOE, p. 162; Ruppelt, p. 223.) [*] These AFOSI documents date the events as occurring on the night of July 25/26, rather than July 26/27 as indicated by all other sources. It is assumed here that the latter dates are correct. -------------------------- http://www.rense.com/general27/Ufosflew.htm excerpt: Visible Two Ways Although "unidentified objects" have been picked up on radar before, the incidents of the last two saturdays are believed to be the first time the objects have been picked up on radar-while visible to the human eye Besides the pilots, who last saturday saw the lights, a woman living on Mississippi Ave., told the Post she saw a very "bright light streaking across the sky towards Andrews Air Force Base about 11:45 PM. Then a second object with a tail like a comet whizzed by, and a few seconds later, a third passed in a different direction toward Suntland, she said. Radar operators plotted the speed of "saturday night's visitors" at from 38 to 90 mph, but one jet pilot reported faster speeds for the light he saw. The jet pilot reported he had no apparent "closing speed" when he attempted to reach the lights he saw near Andrews Air Force Base. That means the lights were moving atleast as fast as his top speed-a maximum of 600 mph. One person who saw the lights when they first appeared in this area did not see them last night. He is E.W. Chambers, an engineer at Radio Station WRC, who spotted the lights while working early the morning of July 20 at station's Hyattsville tower.
Wow that is all crap. NO proof of aliens visiting Earth. I was able to come up with some explanation based on the little information profived for each date and time. Anyway UFO means it is unidentified.. not aliens. I see UFOs all the fucking time. Why? Because I cannot identifify the difference between Delta and Airtran at such high altitudes. What about the military jets overhead? I cannot tell which jet they are. All I know is that it is a plane of some sort.
Well yea.. but it depends on what you mean by "object." But again, I have seen odd objects in the sky that have been unidentified for a while (UFOs)... later I learn it was a blimp or helicopter.. or a weather balloon. But again, UFOs are unidentified by who? The general public? Just a single person? NASA? Maybe PUFO? Puff the magic dragon? That's what I'll call them.
you think it is all crap but such performance of craft documented on radar far exceed anything in existence at the time, and even today. there are only 2 explanations then: 1. man made craft 2. ET piloted craft. tell me which one they are, then. if you answer #1, then prepare to give examples of such craft for the time period, and the specifications of such craft.
3. Visitors from another universe (parallel) 4. Time travelers from the future 5. Combination of 3 and 4 6. Unexplained and unobserved laws of physics 7. Biggest hoax in the history of mankind 8. God or something else to that effect 9. Big foot is having a good laugh.
uh you are sadly mistaken if you think that no aircraft can fly at mach 6 and beyond. as to the other stuff there is a third possibility for the radar traces. if you know how radar works and you are good at electronics then you can reproduce the blips. but let's suppose you are correct and that there are ET's flying around. what is their agenda? what are they trying to accomplish?
Just thought I'd mention: SCRAM jets. Supersonic Combustion RAM jets. Here's a simple article, but SA (Scientific American) has an excellent recent article and describes, among other things, how close we are to practical use of these things. http://www.unexplainable.net/artman/publish/article_849.shtml
there are no craft that accelerate in the manner of the observed objects on the radar. Mach 6 is not in question. it is the nature of the acceleration up to that speed with the manoeuvres to match that have no known man-made analogues. particularly in the late 1940s and early 1950s. moreover, the craft in question responded to the pilots in pursuit of the UFOs, ie, intelligently guided to evade pursuit. so pick one: 1. man made craft 2. ET piloted craft
Seems you skipped over my slightly humorous, yet serious post. I'd love to see you dismiss some of those ideas. It could be 1 or 2.. but they could also be lots of other things, too.
i already stated let's suppose you are correct. i reiterate: what is their objective? what are they trying to accomplish?
i read it. was funny. but none are reasonable. are farce answers. good for a joke. but that's about it.
Explain to me why it is not possible that humans from another universe, parallel to our own, are not going back in time and hopping over to our universe to research us? Maybe it's impossible to time travel back in one's own universe, but not impossible doing it somewhere else? Putting it down just like those that said the earth was round and revolved around the Sun. They must be wrong.. because we cannot see the earth is round? What about a diety? Couldn't he be doing this stuff for whatever reason? Prove I am wrong and I will consider your only two possible options.
who the phoq knows, but... thousands of books have been written on it. and i'd assume, as to paraphrase the entire premise --they're curious, want or need our resources for their own possible gain; perhaps for their own future genetic survival. i'm assuming that these beings are far beyond in excess of magnitude the development of humanity. i am assuming that their technology blurs the line of distinction between purely mental/psychic ability and technical/mechanical development, ie, they are one and the same state of existence. for example, a human can have a dream and in this dream it is super-real or lucid. colorful recollection of the dream can be told to a relative or friend. and it can be in hyper vivid detail. the dream may or may not contain precognitive traits or psychic traits. some people are very advanced in this manner of experience. i will assume, then, that any ET will possess this ability aforementioned with stunning versatility and facility, actually weilding it as if it were a tool or extension of it's own being. at this level of existence, travel, material appearance, manner of cognition and conduct can be nearly invisible to human beings, most of whom are engaged in work-a-day activity of myriad distractions, entirely unaware of the plane of operation inhabited by ET. moreover, super intelligent species will adhere to and seek out study and encounter with other beings of this nature. humans do it all of the time in the animal kingdom, ie, shark cages, remote study of apes, termites, algae, whales, plants, anything. why would ET be any different? the grandiose oversight of the overly-skeptical hater of "ET" is such that consideration for the aforementioned is scarcely acknowledged or even believed. yet on a rudimentary level, we ourselves possess such traits such as dreams, precognitions, gifts, technologies, curiosity with fellow beings of the earth that are non-human. in essence, we are aliens as much as ET is alien.
