Hello, I am not quite smart in things Astronomy and I wanna learn something, so, can someone recommend me a site about the Astronomy basics. Thanks in advance.
I can't think of a site that would be anything but very case-specific. However, I am sure that you could get a book on astronomy at any bookstore. Good luck. micah
Hi Danis, Well, I'd agree with Micah Lee here; there are not many sites (if any) that cover the whole of astronomy, simply because astronomy has way to many different disciplines. It really depends what you want to know; if you are interested in the solar system, then you can check out The Nine Planets at: http://www.dkrz.de/mirror/tnp/nineplanets.html. If on the other hand, you are more interested in spaceflight, you'd better check out Nasa's website at: http://www.nasa.gov. Then there's also the theoretical physics part. This is a more difficult branch of astrophysics since it requires quite some math knowledge to understand it completely. I can't immediatelly think of a good site on that, but I think you're better off buying a book on this kinda stuff. (I was recommended "Spacetime Physics" by Taylor and Wheeler, but I personally didn't like it much because of the non-mathematical approach). You see, there's a flavour for every person, so just take your pick Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!. Bye! Can someone maybe help with some sites about such basic things, as understanding those star coordinates, positions, such stuff, thanks for the links offered.
