    Modern physics is all of physics since about 1900. All of the things on this list were developed by physicists after 1900 (excepting the general fields of optics and acoustics that you mention, which have vastly expanded since 1900).

    Could you please cite one of those textbooks, to give us an example? Thanks.

    So where did lasers, semiconductor computers, GPS satellites, atomic clocks, MRI and the like actually come from? Please tell us.
