I like Michelle's more relaxed style. Love the shoes Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
I think it's very naive to say that clothes don't matter and people should not judge you on them. Have a 45 year old woman wear a babydoll dress and she will be laughed as it looks like she does not want people to think she is above 20. Have a 50 year old man wear what rockers wear to the mall and he looks like he's two decades behind or having a midlife crisis. But it's been my experience that the people who say looks and fashion don't matter are the ones with no fashion sense whatsoever.
I haven't read the whole thread but agree that she is a fashion disaster. The toilet paper dress was the worst. And the orange snake top. http://politicaldemotivation.files.wordpress.com/2009/01/michelle_obama_dress.jpg http://www.blogcdn.com/www.stylelist.com/blog/media/2009/06/michelle.jpg No one could believe when she got off Air Force One in a ridiculous shorts outfit: http://www.starsareblind.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Michelle-Obama-Shorts-500x367.jpg This looked like bad sofa fabric: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_64DOHUvKj.../g2HMxZTp9os/s320/michelle obama fashion3.jpg Her gaudy red dress at the UN was bad, too: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/...amas-fashion-faux-pas/articleshow/5051283.cms
It doesn't matter. She could have worn something decent. This was just trashy and totally unacceptable for a first lady.
this is trashy for an August vacation in Arizona at the Grand Canyon? Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
This is trashy and classless for even *being* on AF1. She needed to dress in something appropriate and change later.
On the other hand, as long as she beats this: http://www.bettybowers.com/fl9.html http://www.bettybowers.com/fl6.html we're ahead of the game.
She did it again at the G20. She wore a sundress (sleeveless, of coursePlease Register or Log in to view the hidden image!). What a clueless dolt. "Michelle Obama" and "fashion sense" are oxymorons. She has no fashion sense. She's just one mistake after another. http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/beau...to-their-famous-husbands-516575#photoViewer=1 She just doesn't get it.
Have to say Carla beats everyone else hollow, she's the only one apart from Miyuki Hatoyama who looks dressed for the event itself. I would add the Korean first lady too though she seems rather unimaginative. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Thats my new favourite "what not to wear" for Michelle Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! its...unbelievable.
Thats kind of you, it reminds me of frilly lace knickers I had when I was very little; except the lace was on the back, not the front.:bugeye:
After eight years of Laura Bush, Michelle Obama looks like a million bucks. She also, btw, dresses like the more style-conscious black women in my area. I'm wondering about the conditioning side of things. I know, for example, that to my eye the ulgliest outfit in that group photo above is first row, second in from the right.
Well I find the chosen sari pretty shabby as an example of a representative of India, so we each have our limitations. However, I know quite a few black women who are style conscious and none of them shop at J Crew. I'm pretty certain none of them would be caught dead in the "frilly knicker" outfit. But I agree that the style is deliberate and is consciously chosen. I wonder how Obama would look if he chose to dress as the more stylish black men in the US.
The prez would look great if he dressed more sylishly. He has a nice, muscular body that would look good in just about anything. Michelle has a flat top and huge bottom. She would look better in suits with a heavily padded bra and prime color shell. Enough of the arms, too. We're tired of them. And I don't want to see anymore hideous mistakes. She is the first lady and should dress like one. Remember this blue prom skirt? http://images.huffingtonpost.com/2009-04-02-michelleargyle.jpg The color was good but the outfit was all wrong.
Hmm I don't mind the arms actually, she has good arms. A white sheath would look fabulous on her, even if it was full sleeved. She should wear very pale or very vivid colors to offset her tanned skin. Dark colors make her fade into the background
I'm just tired of the arms--especially when it's freezing outside. Yes she would look good in white. I like her best in bold colors around her face (reds, greens, blues, yellows...) but not the whole outfit. She's too huge to carry off the bright or patterned things.
