It got shitcanned for some weird reason. I guess the new admins got it in their heads that people get spammed because of the member list or something. Sounds stupid to me, but whatever.
Although I think the concern was for email related spam, I do think that the lack of memberslist might lower the competition of people for getting a greater post count, afterall you wouldn't know who's #1.
Seconded. Or is that thirded? Or fourthed. Anyone else who wants the highly useful members list back should add their voice of protest here too.
Email? You mean there are people who actually clicked the box that says you want to receive email from members? Wow. Some people are freaking stupid. Anyway. I have never once heard a complaint about this. The statement that the members list causes spam came from out of the blue.
Can't you just restrict member lists or personal details to registered users? It'd at least reduce the supposed threat.
I add my voice...I want the members list back. The reason given for its removal is weak. It's not as if we had a problem with spam spread through the members list.
Or why not just disable the email and PM links by default, and let members enable them if they choose?

1. Everybody knows it is me and that I am untouchable in this respect. 2. a greater postcount actually acts as a negative attractant. 3. there is no competition. I am always right.
i must add my voice to bring the members list back. email spam is not a reason to delete it, emails from members can be disabled in your profile. all that is needed is a alphabetical list of hot linked names that take you to that posters profile no need to include anything else.
