Hatred really can turn into love. It's obvious if you observe people in everyday situations. Literally, one day they could be at each other throats, and the next day, one of them could make an apology, go out to dinner, and hop in the sack.

You're studying what someone tells you, not what you feel in your own heart and soul. That's whats wrong with you people of today! :bugeye:
That's also why there are different opinions on love and hate (how you feel is of your own essence).

"putting someone ahead of yourself" is givingness.
but putting yourself above others is......SELFESHNESS!

Some good points there, many of which I agree with. However I believe that generosity is the opposite of selfishness, and hate is the opposite of love. We could question how we know this, but it seems to me that it must be taught; childrens questions about the emotions must be be explained to them, and so hate and love become known as opposites.
Yes love can lead to hate, and this is what I was saying.
    Exactly!
If love is the creation of life, and hate is the destruction of it, then we can see how it is impossible to create something that has been destroyed, but one can only destroy something that has already been created! So, as I was saying, love must always come before hate! This explains what people were saying about love leading to hate, and what I meant about this explaining the psychology of hatred, and love. Of course there are in-betweens, but put simply like will come before dislike.

But, Darkman, love is NOT the creation of life. Where did you get that idea? Sex might be the creation of life, but one can have sex and create life WITHOUT love having anything to do with it!

I also think that your idea of love coming before hate is stretching things a bit ...like just to make your earlier comments/theories more sensible (or vice versa). One can hate without love and people do so every day in all parts of the world.

The only people who do any real good are whores and bartenders.

I wouldn't do that, I'm always impartial! However there is a valid point here: the fact that death always implies the previous existence of life.
I disagree! Can you prove what you are saying? I would like to hear it. I would argue that the creation of life is always born through love.

Is this like a sack race then - like the first one to cross the line in a sack wins the argument

Are prostitutes devoid of love for their offspring?

Do you suppose that love as a creative force is as simple as thinking loving thoughts whilst fucking someone?

What about life's love of continued life? (or do you see no other love than the romantic kind)

But you have to pay a bartender and a whore, surley you mean

Promiscuous nymphomaniacs and wealthy autophobic alcoholics are the only ones who do any real good

(If you like that sort of thing that is!)

Y-...nevermind, it's not even worth it.

    Depends on the prostitute.

    No, far from it.

    Eh. Dunno. Whatever.

Maybe, maybe not. Depends on the person. Time is also a delusion. Everything, every emotion, is a delusion, but it does not mean that it's not a tangiblbe delusion. If love is a delusion, then I like being deluded.

But prostitutes don't have sex for reproduction (i.e. the creation of life), or for love!

Now, the following thinking is flawed, but it might make for some thought provocation.

    Creation-----Life-----Destruction

    (immortality)---------(mortality)

    Destruction--Death---Creation

If we are looking at a line of life, with the creation and destruction of it on one hand, then directly opposite this must be a line of death. But because this is in direct opposition to our original scale, the poles must be reversed. Hence we still have a match: the destruction of life is the creation of death. However the creation of life is not the destruction of death. To destroy death, or to take it out of existence, is to give immortality. Now, this could lead us to look at flora, for it is there that immortal life is created! And this again could be reversed to give us mortality at the opposite pole of the same scale, for it is the destruction of life, or the creation of death, that is mortality. These two could again be switched and placed on the opposite scale to give us mortality and immortality again, but as I have said it doesn't fully fit. Perhaps, because we are looking at immortality on the left half of the scale, mortality (i.e. the destruction of life and the creation of death) fills the right-hand side, but, once again, this doesn't fully fit the flow of the logic.

Love is a fantasy that's purported in order to attempt to keep men and women together long enough to raise their own children .......so the state doesn't have to do it for you!

And as the statistics show, it ain't workin' too well, either. ...LOL!

Not exactly, Love emerged from a romantic time and language, the time when man started appreciating his enviroment; the enlightenment period. This enlightenment has led us to other notions such as Humanity, Religion, Chivalry, art, and even Science. My guess is right before the tenth century. So is Love a fantasy? maybe so but I think it does play a role in mankinds intellectual passage of time

Well, it's apparently happened to a helluva lot of people ...several times if they divorce statistics are to be believed! And if gambliing percentages are to be believed, then you, too, will fall out of "love".

So now, ....what is love? Is it a switch that we turn on and off in our brain somewhere? ...for some reason? ...and the switch is obviously defective, 'cause it only stays 'on' for a short time! ...LOL!

Nope, just fairy tales by women in order to keep men from roaming and sowing their wild oates whenever they feel like it. It also helps hold men around after women become fat and ugly!! ...LOL!

If "love" is so important, so wonderful, why is it that men don't sit around the bars and discuss it's wonders and beauties ....instead of boring shit like football and nascar racing? (Note that women actually DO discuss "love" often ...why is that?) Yep ....a woman's fairy tale.

Love is a word.....and a weak one at that. The actual emotion/feeling that tempts us to use this word are so varied as to make it a useless statement when you look closely. Can anyone define what the "Feel" that causes them to say they Love someone/thing? Somehow I doubt it ....but this does not stop us from trying, if only because it is so important to life. There are many things in this life I feel for, and will even say I love. But I do not love a person, in the same way I love a pet.

What then....does one word do for me?
