Yeah that's pretty valid lol Always wondered that myself since Tolkien used his usual Deus ex Machina (The eagles) to rescue Frodo, with all of Mordor stirred up like a hornets nest. Why not just use the damn eagle in the first place. I've heard it argued that the birds wouldn't fly over Mordor while Sauron controlled the realm. Pretty funny with the blindfold lol....but I don't think that's how it works.
