i'd like to see that, i think that'd look better too. change the pink to blue too, as suggested by someone else. explosions/lasers etc. wouldn't hurt, esp. given there's a star battle like 15 pages in.
I'm putting together the final draft and giving a shout-out to SciForums and several of the members that have helped me along the way. The release date may get pushed UP to September, rather than October. Very exciting. I hope those of you that get mentioned buy a copy and appreciate the product you've helped create.
Several more designs, some of them taking your advice into account. If any of you have the time, let me know what you think. http://www.hughhowey.com/?page_id=166/molly-fyde/more-cover-designs
The girl's eyes look too passive for high adventure. However, the plot description sounds like it holds a lot of promise in the space opera genre. A novel like this needs a mystery to solve...an unanswered question. I take it this is not science fiction about science?
I'm thinking that the man is a bit too informative.. The title tells the story already.. Do draw readers, in you might want to have the planet in an eclipse/darnkness/twilight, with a star framing it, perhaps even a lense flare..
No, it's science fiction about people, relationships, philosophy, the human condition... and it all happens through the lens of nearly nonstop action and adventure. It's meant to be fun to read while having an emotional impact. I'm incredibly excited with how it's turning out. And book two is even better!
They're on the inside. I don't want Walmart to reject the book, and I don't want one of those cheesy plastic bags around it when the novel hits 7-11.
You erased some of the green blotches...good idea. Most science fiction readers are male and will be less likely to pick up a book with a solitary female figure on the cover. The cover has only one purpose.
