While looking at the "Kofels Impact Book" web page on the Bristol University Aerospace Engineering web site, I found it stated:

"A Sumerian Observation of the Köfels’ Impact Event

    Alan Bond & Mark Hempsell
 Alcin Academics
ISBN 1904623646"

Does anyone know what company is m"Alcin Academics"? Are they a serious academic publisher?

    Yours,

    Douglas

The logic is that if they printed "A Sumerian Observation of the Köfels’ Impact Event” then they cannot be a serious academic publisher.

I've come upon this just now, and it puzzles me. I fail to see how someone claiming expertise could comment in detail on a monograph he clearly has not read, relying instead on excerpts found elsewhere. If one actually reads the thing, one finds that the objections raised above are all noted, discussed, and responded to by the authors.
