first off, "page cannot be displayed" second, if communism is aethist, how would Islam be connected, and third, whats so bad about communism?
1st) works fine for me....try copying n' pasting. 2nd) i dont know I didn't write it. 3rd) it's all about the US having an "ideology" to fight against.
what is so bad about communism, more specifically the ethos and principles there of??:bugeye: http://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1847/11/prin-com.htm
Principals often get twisted. The idea of the thing is not necessarily the thing. And whats wrong with communism? It tends to cause social stagnation and collapse. And lets not confuse the various versions of socialism with communism.
The web site worked for me too. Website: "Iran," he contends, "views Islam as the successor to communism in the effort to topple the Judeo/Christian-led new world order." I recently read that the majority of Shias returning to Iraq from Iran insist there must be separation of faith and government. Iran’s theocracy will either make it or not. My moneys not but that really doesn't matter to me - I don't live there and it's not my government nor my business (a concept many other Americans need to learn). Right now, Iran sells 60% of its oil through Russia and Europe to the USA (funny as the USA = Satan). So Islam’s similarity to communism is that it is a hypocritical failure when used as a form of government. Unfortunately, there are some people in the USA government that do feel there should be a “threat” of some-kind to motivate the “little people” (that’s us). I have seriously read statements from the pentagon (about 6 yr/ago) trying to justify building a new 100multimillion dollar jet because we need a deterrent against England. Either he’s a jack ass or thinks you and I are. Then there was China. Now there are some people using Islam. What you and I need to do is keep informed, remember we elect these idiots and try not being jack asses ourselves Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
I cant understand that after living in Iran , but they are a minority within the total Shiaa of Iraq , I dont think it is influencial enough to create a new overal Shiaa vote for Theocracy . what if it IS your government and it IS your business . I think thats whats needed to be learned . Making money off of Satan is a good thing . Bullshit first of all a theory is not valued by its practice . A practice is valued practical , a theory is valued theoretical . Secondly , Iran is only 1 , I mean I can give you capitalism of Argentina and told you it failed ......that says little for capitalism doesnt it ? And same thing is done with communism although there are more examples of that . And then another thing , there are multiple versions of everything , I dont think Leninism and Stalinism was quite the same , I dont think these concepts should be judged so easily and certainly not in this fallascious way .
Michael: remember that Rumsfeld and the Pentagon have clashed repeatedly over what will constitue the future of the American armed forces. It's not all wasteful and it's not all monolithic.
There has never been a real communist government. There's been quite a few governments calling themselves socialist or communist, but none of them had much in common with actual marxism. Therefore it cannot be claimed that it tends to cause any problems, unless you're speaking theoretically.
A vital connection Somewhere, I have yet to find my source, is the assertion made both before and after 9/11 (to varying degrees of attention among the audience) that fundamentalist Islam filled in a power vacuum left by the retreat of collapsing Soviet communism. I'll try to build that case over time, but just think about the number of places abandoned by the cold war that bear the burden of extremist assertions of Islam: Afghanistan, for starters; aren't there Muslims challenging the structure within the former Soviet Union? We wrangled against the Soviets in Iran, stroking the Shah and opening the door to the Ayatollah's posse. We might say, "Just for starters", but I'm going to have to polish that history some. :m:, Tiassa Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Jps: I'm fine saying that communism in theory is harmless, and in practice is murderous and disastrous.
What I'm saying is its never been put into practice, so you can't make factual statements about what it "tends" to do. My own view is that although communism would not be without problems, the general theory is sound, and in any case, capitalism has been tried, its not working, and I haven't heard any other real alternatives suggested.
It's brought the most wealth to the most people. I don't see where it "hasn't worked," unless you're comparing it to some sort of ideal state of perfection. It's certainly worked better than any other system tried.
alanH, If you can list any other system than capitalism and communism (aka stalinism), I'll be surprised.
Well yeah, but its also made it impossible for people to be self-sufficient without wealth, and although it may have made the most people the most wealth of any system, the fact remains that most people have pretty much no wealth, and are hurt by capitalism
Sparks: socialism, feudalism, mercantilism, imperialism...some are not apples to apples, but that's a few off the bat. Surprise you? Jps: how are they hurt by capitalism?
alanH, Not surprised at all - you managed to quote 3 governmental systems and one (mercantilism) that covers a field of related economic theories, all of which taken together equate to a form of communism (ie. a government-regulated market). I'd have been surprised if you'd quoted an economic system that wasn't capitalism or communism ...
