Can the Turks build mosques in Germany if they are denied permission? Do the Afghans have the option to oppose Germans building anything in Afghanistan?

The difference between the two is called occupation.

The Germans are working after the permission of the existing Afghan government. Why would they be opposed to developmental aid?

In my home country, the Germans have over 2000 on going projects in water and energy infrastructures. They also go to forests to set up forest fire management program. They make machines for our local people to dry their paddy, etc etc etc. They are giving scholarships to thousands Indonesian students every year so that we can enjoy advance education in Germany and go home to build our country later, and these are for free; I am not obliged to return this to the Germans. I acknowledge this because this is fact.

The present government of Afghanistan is a puppet government. Puppet governments are not exactly working for the people. Or do you think the French supported the Vel' d'Hiv?

I am not opposed to developmental aid. However, I am a little bit more familiar with how structural adjustment policies work. Why are the Germans working in Afghanistan? Why aren't they training the Afghans instead?

NATO has been "building" in Afghanistan for several years now. Can you tell me where quality of life has been improved by them in Afghanistan?

One of the major [and defining] features of occupation is the lack of effort given to the health and economy of the people. Would you say that the German efforts include improving the health and education of Afghans and supporting local economy over foreign investments?

Btw, any permission they receive from a puppet government is null and void. I am not familiar with German foreign policy so I cannot comment on it. But it sounds very similar to the US policy there and I have yet to get any evidence that it will benefit the Afghans rather than German/US allies

Definitely. NGOs don't work for profit. And, it's not even their duties. These things, however, rarely make news.

NGOs may not work for profit. However they can certainly make sure their efforts benefit those who fund them [one example of such NGO is the Birthright program which recruits American Jews for West Bank settlements]. Afghanistan receives a lot more sunlight than Germany. I understand that Germany wants to convert 100% of its energy source to renewable sources. I would be interested to know who is funding the solar project by the Germans in Afghanistan.

NB [nota bene] Always follow the money.

And unlike those on Jihad, who do worse, He was investigated, tried, convicted, and sentenced.

Yes, S.A.M. where are the trials of the Muslim Terrorist who commit the same acts? it seem that if you are on Jihad, and carry a Quran, you have a get out of Jail Free Card, unless they are captured by coalition troops.

But among their own, it is a great campfire story to trade among fellow mess mates after a hard day at the Jihad.

Maybe you're missing the point Shadow. I'm talking about teaching US Citizens - regardless of their superstition. It's called formal education and has absolutely nothing at all to do with you or Africa or the ME. I'm talking about the USA. I personally don't give two craps as to what they teach people in Tunisia. You can teach the earth is flat or round, the Qur'an is perfect or imperfect, Allah is God and Xenu is a SpaceHero. Why would it make any difference to me. The USA is screwed up enough without wasting time worrying about people in Africa or the ME

As for Afghanistan, I'm with SAM, the USA needs to stop wasting time and money and completely pull out. The USA intentions were noble and good hearted, but, lets face it, the people there really aren't up to the challenges of democracy. They weren't when the Greeks introduced it to them 2500 years ago and they still aren't. One could argue they're really not much different now from then - only now half are high on their own heroine and the other half smoke Allah-crack.

More than likely they'll screw up one too many billion dollar mining deals with China and when it comes time to collect - they'll be made part of an "Autonomous Region" administered out of Beijing - we'll see how the Chinese people deal with Afghanistan screwing them over. I can promise, it won't be anything like the Brits or the Yanks. The Chinese need the land and in all honestly they probably deserve it as they have more than enough people to fill it from end to end. The Earth is shrinking and Asia is growing. It's a simple equation.

Even my limited knowledge on islam allows me to be certain that it is strictly forbidden (not all follow of course, like in all ways of lifes) to harm the innocent in a " holy struggle", let alone raping a 15 year old girl before burning her body along with her sisters.
We may not view jihadists as the best people in the world, (i.e: TERRORISTS) but remember that the people who know more than we do about them view them as freedom fighters, and no matter how much we want to make them seem as villains, we have to realise that there are some things we can't say they can do...i.e: raping a 15 year old and burning her body.
Killing the people that invade their land?
    Yep they'll do that.

If you want to equate swastika with klanhood, then a bigger nut is yet to be found.
