So you're fine with "ugly women" who "who hit on me, grope me, or assault me with bedroom eyes"?
Any undesired attention is unwelcome, that's the point.

Utilitarianism means not really bothering to think about things?
It's rude to assume someone's sexuality is the same as yours just because the majority is.
ALWAYS check to see if the "target" is gay/ straight/ bi/ spoken for/ not interested...

    SHOULD? EVERYBODY?

Democracy: so the minority shall not suffer the tyranny of the majority...

    Orleander:
    Exactly, and vice-versa for me...

Honestly, it bugs me when ugly women or homosexual men—neither of whom have any realistic chance—flirt with me. I suffer through it because minor inconveniences are part of life...and I wouldn't say that ugly women "disgust" me as a result, just that I don't much appreciate their attention

I assume you don't really mean that. There are plenty of times when the majority needs to have its ass kicked as a wake up call, and so we as a society generally do allow others the right to annoy us within reason. Black people trying to use "whites only" bus terminals shocked and upset the majority of southerners when they first did it. Utilitarianism didn't seem to sway the Freedom Riders. Perhaps gay men hitting on you is just their way of slowly teaching you to have a thicker skin. Some day you may come to look on these people as pioneers who taught you not to be a little more tolerant.

In the grand scheme of things, being hit on by a gay man is no more irritating than being targeted by a bum who wants a handout or some religious nut who wants to know if you've accepted Jesus. Simply, politely, send 'em on their way.

Holy what an ego.:bugeye: You suffer through it huh. So let me ask you this.
Does it matter if this "ugly" woman is really nice? versus a "beautiful" woman that is
    a bitch?

Also what do you do when an Ugly woman flirts with you?

I also agree with Oli. I am flattered when anybody flirts or tells me I am attractive.

I'm starting to think we should actually be disgusted by heterosexuals.

I never said that looks were the one and only factor in who I choose to date, but it is an important one.

I was implicitly assuming that we were talking about flirting being done by women whom I do not know well. (As why would a gay man I know well hit on me? If he knows me well, he'd know that I'm straight.) An ugly woman had *better* at least be nice while flirting with me, as flirting while being a pain in the ass if very hard to do...and likely impossible for people well outside of my traditional type 9including as relates to physical attractiveness). On the other hand, if a beautiful woman were bitchy while flirting with me, I can only say that I'd probably dismiss her for that reason. Sometimes bitchy can be sexy, but it has to be played just right and looks do matter in that context (as beautiful women do have greater leeway to pull it off).

It varies, but in general I do what I suggested above: I attempt to find a friendly way of letting her know that her efforts aren't going to bear fruit, the same as I've done when gay men flirt with me, the same as I do when approached by panhandlers.

You may think I'm arrogant, but the truth is that looks do matter in my decisions on who to date, and most likely yours as well. (That's not to say it's the only factor, but I would be lying were I to assert that it plays no role.) When a person outside your league starts hitting on you, it then becomes your problem to find a nice way to let them down without hurting their feelings, and that's an inconvenience. I find, arrogant or not, that it happens to me relatively frequently, and that seeming frequency makes it feel all the more bothersome.

    though.
Oh and what is your "traditional type 9 supposed to mean exactly:shrug:

I don't care how gorgeous a guy is, if he is a prick he doesn't
get a greater leeway as you say.

Nope. Some of 'em actually know how to fuck. But I'm not sure the trade-off is worth it; such corrupting "morality" is not excused by the ability to enjoy an orgasm.

Let me put it this way - you're out at a club, you're dancing, holding a drink, the DJ's playing Cure songs (or whatever you dig) and some pudgy dude who reeks of cologne, is a good ten years older than you and does not belong in your club shows up and starts trying to dance with you, and much as you ignore his ass, he keeps moving closer and throwing your moves off.
Me, I'm going to "accidentally" stomp on his foot.

I'm polite to everyone who's polite to me, but it's frankly insulting for men below my calibre to hit on me. Especially the age thing bugs me. I'm 23 but I look a lot younger, so when you're creepy for hitting on me in the first place, you're doubly creepy for hitting on a girl who looks about 19.

Sorry if it sounds cold, but sexual desire is based primarily on looks and smell.

Sounds like the story of my life lol......except for the time this stranger tried to kiss me and I turned and he licked the side of my face.

    uke:

That was my last trip to the club.

I can't say that it insults me. I find it bothersome if they don't leave me alone but I am not thinking.....WTF who are you to hit on me, I am so hot and look at you. I don't think I am so great that only a certain calibre of man has the right to hit on me.

I am too nice, you can see it in my face. I think it targets me because they know I am not some bitch
that will tell them to go fuck themselves. So I have a hard time getting rid of someone usually.

    Oh eww, on the face-licking.

Maybe "insult" is the wrong word. It's disrespectful, would be more accurate. Again, if you're polite and take a hint, I don't mind so much. But if you keep moving into the space that I'm dancing in, or keep bugging me to come have a drink, or asking if I'm single, I am going to be annoyed.

Oh, I don't know. I have the same problem, and I don't think I seem too nice. I've hit men with glow-stix and had them keep hitting on me.

Followed by "Erm, I don't know why I did that... I'll just go back to my fiancée..."

    Her: "Are you single?"
    Me: "Yeah"
Her: "Wanna go out with me?"
Me: "Then I wouldn't be single any more would I? Go away."

I was not raised typing in the English language, having learned to type only in Typoese. "traditional type 9" is what you native English language typists would write as "traditional type (".

    Heh, speaking of rolling:

Him: "Well I'm just kinda sad tonight"
Me: "OH no! You shouldn't be sad. Why are you sad?"
Him: "Most of the girls here have boyfriends. I bet you have a boyfriend."
Me: "Yes I do but he's not here right now because he doesn't really do clubs but I forget what he's doing tonight I bet it's fun and he's awesome and I should call him and tell him that but they don't allow cell phones in here so I'll see him when I leave and you shouldn't be sad you can probably make some friends anyway if you talk to people ooh they're playing that song by Apop I'm going to go dance now I'm sure I'll run into you later it's nice talking"

Riiiight. Some of my friends were nearby and laughed their asses off.
