Is it possible for something to come from nothing?

    An important thing to remember about the Universe coming from nothing is that this is a Universe centric view. It's kind of like a microbe inside of a soap bubble in a bubble bath thinking the bubble came from nothing. Whatever conditions pertained "before" our Universe came into being, they were not nothing, though we know very little about what they were.

    My neighbor's cat seems conscious to me, as do the squirrels in my back yard.

    Although consciousness is an interesting subject, it is off topic for this thread and this forum. Thread closed. Also, wellwisher has been given a holiday for posting an endless stream of gibberish in the science forums.
