Is College Necessary?

    Yes, and not due to lack of education.

    How many people do you know who have two PhDs? Ever watch "The Apprentice"? Kwame, a runner-up, was dinged for having too much education. It concerned his interviewers, who felt he should have gotten a job sooner.

    It's gonna be hard to pay off a PhD education with a relatively low salary and a high chance of being laid off.

    A degree helps in getting venture capital, but venture capital only gets you a tiny portion of the way to being wealthy.

    Health insurance can be bought individually. It's better to have it separate from your employer anyway, in case you get laid off. Good credit comes from simply paying your bills & debts on time.

    A college education can be beneficial as long as you don't pay too much for it or spend too much time getting it. You do have to recoup the investment, after all. If you think a degree is some kind of golden ticket to riches, chances are that you're in for a wake up call.
