Every country has downfalls, US has big social network problems. No socialized healthcare, and public schools are funded according to the local tax base=shitty deal! American society isn't very understanding about the workings of the "outside" world, nor cares! I know this is a pretty big generalization but it is true. Canada has major health care funding issues, and a federal government that is actually ignorant of most of the provinces needs (funding). Military spending is the shits although getting better. Canada has a laughable "justice" system, which treats prisoners better than ordinary joe & a Gun controll system that is crazy hell! I know I am a shooter myself.
yeah, we've gone over this. We both "have it all" and "have nothing". Pick a western country, it doesn't matter. When compared with nations that can't even feed their own own, we're so rich rich it's embarrassing. Then again, ask someone here that's waiting for surgery or a person living on the street how good it is and the answers are somewhat less optimistic. The bottom line is, "everywhere" is great and "everywhere" sucks... it just depends who you ask.
If we had to slow down comet so that it would allow the earth to rotate us out of the way, then Canada, as usual would get another free ride from us
Why can't weeeeee be freinds, why can't wee be freinds, why can't we be..................... cough cough. ahem

ahhhh.... No, it doesn't... Well... perhaps Quebec might be said to do so... They appear to possess an ever-so-quaint parody of The Greatest Nation On Earth's opinion - quite obviously true, of course, to anyone within it's golden, shining, radiant, glorious environs - That we, in fact, are like unto the heavenly paradise of all pantheons combined...! Where all beneficient probabilities and possibilities are made manifest...! Where all that is good , and kind, and just, and right reside...! Where the ancient bloodlines of the "God-Men" have at long last been reborn...! Where obstacles which fell whole nations of inferior "sub-men" are brushed aside like the merest of dessicated twigs...! And everywhere else just plain stinks...! Unfortunately... It also bears an ever-so-disturbing superficial resemblance to a certain other "oui-oui" speakin'-type pestiferous hunk of fungus-underlain, shelled mollusk-crawling, overly moist and stenchant, body-odor beswept, grime-encrusted earth whose name I shall not besmirch even this questionable den of lilly-livered, slack-willed, pseudo-"pinko", third-worldian-type jibby-jabb'rin' socialisto dy-dee-washed out tripe slingers with... Therefore, it must join it's infinitely lesser fellow aboriginal preserves in the hyperboreal wasteland of its polarmost regions in the classification status group: "eh...? Someone out there...?" damn, this thread is still alive? christ we have only 25 million people and a gdp roughly equivalent to bill gates' weekly gas allowance. What more is there to be said? Canada has good things and bad things, that's about it.
i think australia is actually the best out of all countries mentioned. Germany is up there- very cool, uber high-tech and modern, nice people too. Norway,Sweden,Denmark are nice, i hear norway is #1 according to the UN anyways- i was going out with a norwegian exchange student, and they are damn attractive. Its was also awesome that she spoke english, german, norwegian, swedish, and french at age uhh...she was 18- i swear. thats just hot. Switzerland isnt bad, but it pretty expensive. But in all those countries, you have to deal with WINTER! omg! i live in L.A. so i am much into nice sunny days Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Sydney takes the spot weatherwise - Australia is large, fairly socialized, great diverse population and regions, the people are the best, great weather, and it aint crowded, i think that settles it-
I agree with the winter problem. But as you said, they are hot!! LOL!!!! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Besides... Australia has the reverse problem - it is hot. And it is mostly desert, which I particularly don't like. I still prefer the cool European countries... The bad about Australia is that you're pretty much stranded. If you want to visit other countries that are not in Oceania, it'll take hours upon hours of riding planes.
living in detroit, im a bit of a border bunny. and when i do drive across, its in my old blue lumina with the big "Quebec" sticker across the back, (well not anymore actually, ive got a little parking ticket problem to take care of before i take that across the border again, thanks to montreal) butother than that, im pretty pro canada. Especially after spending 12 hours in the hospital, ive decided when i get sick, from now on ill take the 20 minute drive to the border before i ever go to US hospital again. Not that i hate the US, im just a canadian trapped in a US citizenship. =)
