Can we agree on this definition? Atheism is specifically the position that there are no deities. Atheism is contrasted with theism, which, in its most general form, is the belief that at least one deity exists. And, what I consider the default position: Agnosticism is the view that the truth of certain claims – especially metaphysical and religious claims such as whether or not God, the divine or the supernatural exist – are unknown and perhaps unknowable. I would equate "unknown and perhaps unknowable" with a recognition and acceptance of ignorance.
