Ok so somewhere between ch emistry, physics and astronomy there lies a portion of space which is mostly hydrogen. Between hydrogen and nothing is something so extremely massive is causes hydrogen to combine with itself.

Interpolating that idea into our sophomoric idea of the universe lightning could be hydrogen accelerating so rapidly toward our sun that it hits Earth and is transformed into nitrogen.

I mean can we equip the space station to fire particles at the earth to see if it makes lightning?

Try googling "What is lightning", when you're sober.
