I've thought about getting a pair of vibram five-finger shoes...can be found on sale for around 40$.

However, for barefoot running I have been using aqua-socks, they are thin enough and let me spread my toes alright.

Depression's been kicking my butt since August anyway, and I am out of shape...

I can't wear women's shoes anymore. Really. I started wearing men's shoes, and my feet stopped having those mysterious grinding pains in the knuckles...and spread out.
I'd been binding my feet for years.
I now wear mens shoes exclusively, wide width if I can get them in my size.

It hurts less to walk. But I can't find women's shoes that fit to save my life. I really am built like a guy in some respects.

    Hehe.

A man that gets distracted by "his natural biology" isn't worth much.

A proper man is able to have a proper intelligent conversation, no matter how he himself or the woman he is talking to, is dressed or looks like.

Those shoes look like they hurt like a bitch...and apparently from what I heard from my girlfriend and my female friends, they hurt more then us guys think (doubt it).

They look like something crazy artists (aren't all artist crazy?) came up with lol no offense to anyone.

Yep. As my friend Dao used to say, "beauty must suffer." Whatever floats your boat.

Probably - but I bet they also got a good amount of money for them!

The latter shoes are disturbing, sinister even.

I like the key in the lock set.

    Agreed.
Surely women with fungi infected toenails should not advertise open shoes.
Possibly those based on mushroom shapes, but not otherwise.

    STEVE MARTIN

    "Cruel Shoes"

Anna knew She had to have a new pair of shoes today, and Carlo had helped her try on every pair in the store. Carlo spoke wearily, "Well, that's it. That's every pair of shoes in the place."

"Oh, you must have one more pair...."

"No, not one more... . Well, we have the cruel shoes, but no one would want to try...

"Yes, let me see the cruel shoes!"

"No, you don't understand, you see, the cruel shoes are...'

    "Get them!"

Carlo disappeared into the back room for a moment, and then reappeared carrying an ordinary shoebox. He took off the lid and re-moved a hideous pair of black and white pumps. But this was not an ordinary pair of black and white pumps; both were left feet, one had a right angle turn with sepa-rate compartments that pointed the toes in impossible directions. The other shoe was six inches long and was curved inward like a rocking chair with a vise and razor blades to hold the foot in place.

Carlo spoke hesitantly, "... Now you see... they' re not fit for humans..." "Put them on me."

    "But... "Put them on me!"

Carlo knew all arguments were useless. He knelt down before her and forced the feet into the shoes.

    The screams were incredible.

Anna crawled over to the mirror and held her bloody feet up where she could see.

    "I like them."

She paid Carlo and crawled out of the store into the street.

Later that day, Carlo was overheard saying to a new customer, "Well, that's it. That's every pair of shoes in the place. Unless, of course, you'd like to try the cruel shoes."

Anyone without toenail fungus certainly runs the risk of acquiring some foot disease in the wearing of such footwear fashion that allows their bare skin to contact the walking surface.

This is a more protective variation on unusual footwear.

And as far as protection goes - some of the tops posted above look downright bulletproof. (Although somehow I doubt that was a consideration in their selection.)

It's those feet that should be locked up.
    Horrible.

If you know which of the posters are female, there is your answer.
I'm thinking 4, and of course Chimpkin.
