Look just cuz I like Invert Sexus doesn't mean I'm gay. Just joking. I just want to store this classified information in my profiles for future use.

But TDI, what if you do that and my "father" (if it actually is), wants more than just a one night stand?

I wouldn't be Marvin Gaye even if I were homosexual, but I'd still smile.

So is it possible to be gay without being homosexual or bisexual?

I can't figure out if you're American, but around 1967 "gay" became slang for "homosexual." As the old barriers of discrimination fell and more gay people came out in public life, the word became standard about ten years later and today it's no longer considered slang. However, it seems to have come to be applied only to men. The women we once simply referred to as "gay women" are now called "lesbians," a word most of us weren't familiar with in the 1960s.

You rarely hear "gay" used in its original sense of "cheerful" or "festive" any more, at least not in America. Nobody walks into the office and says, "I'm feeling rather gay this morning." I think Hillyer is just playing with words.

Bisexuals are not generally referred to as gay or lesbians. Just "bi." Unless their predominant mode is homosexual AND they're open about it AND heterosexual encounters are just an occasional fancy.

I personally think it is unfair and hugely selfish for gay people to come out to Everyone. I'm out to certain people. Some friends, a sister and a few others. To force a reaction from your parents, grandparents, co-workers and neighbors is wrong, imo. Everyone has different experiences and different relationships with those around them but for myself, there is nothing to be gained by announcing that I'm not hetero to all the world.
Hiding completely is also just as bad, but the big pink "Coming Out" stageshow is grossly unfair to those that are around me.

So, deceit is a natural part of your existence?

I'll grant you that camouflage is an important survival trait useful for buying additional time to procreate, and to not be eaten.

But how is pretending to be someone you aren't fair to the rest of us who don't pretend? What if straights went around pretending to be gay? You'd probably take offense at that, no?

Stop victimizing straights. Stop using us for your personal gain.

Stop pretending to be someone you're not. Stand, or fail, on your own merits, not ours.

    Lead by example.
