The only light on right now is sitting on my desk and it's a Sylvania™ halogen, narrow floodlight, 50 watts. It's suppose to last 2500 hours. That's hard to verify. But the lamp is Swedish. (Is it alright to say that here? God, I feel like I'm treading on thin ice. Risqué.)
Uh. I just turned my lamp off (the light). Is, uh, that alright? I'm not being derogatory or anything?
Halogens have a comfortable emission from nice spherical heads and sometimes I take the lampshade completely off.
Oh yeah. I like that. Does the light emission shoot all over the place more than the rest? Looks interesting.
Halogens will burn your eyes out, they last a short time, they are power hogs, they are way too hot, and they are expensive. A desk lamp is great with just 8 white LEDS and it will last forever.
