    it's like airmodeling or maquettes... you have all these little pieces that match perfectly into a very complex structure... skeletons just happen to be very complex structures that also happen to be perfectly adapted to certain activities, depending on the animal... it's fascinating to look at them

    I remember thinking something along the same lines in science class, back when I was a lad, and the class was carefully sifting through dried owl vomit to separate rodent bones. Or just looking at any structure that seems to have been shaped by complex processes. It's the informational content you don't get from textbooks.

    I have a rabbit buried in my backyard and I've made holes all over a certain area and I just cant find it grr... I really want a rabbit skull
    I also have a couple of birds that are nice and ripe

    because I would have to deal with a stinky pot of rotting flesh and maggots
