You're welcome. Find your peace where you will, it is your right. But if you delay this action, you will probably find that these feelings will pass. Have some courage.

sounds like your creating a gloomy perspective of reality.
I don't think of all the misery but of the beauty that still remains.
    ~ Anne Frank

There is nothing either good or
bad, but thinking makes it so. -Shakespeare

You need to force your perspectives to see the beauty in life rather than the dark side of life. When you choke out all the bad perspectives and allow yourself to see the good side your brain chemistry will change to increase your level of happiness. Give it a shot for just 3 days and you will be out of your depression. Force your thoughts away from the things that bring you down to things that lift you up.

there are several ways that people deal with the negative. some of it is beneficial and some of it isn't.

the 'suck it up' routine usually doesn't work as that is just ignoring or bottling up an injury which will surface in other ways later. it can fester. it's best to acknowledge it for whatever it is that's bothering you, be kind and gentle to yourself and give your inner self time to figure it all out or work through it as well as clean out the gangrene.

if you are constantly negative without any desire to change or find a thread of the positive to work with, then you will stay in a totally dark space. in some cases, going through depression can be helpful too as it gives you time to heal. pretending to be cheerful is not healing either as that is denial. but compounding it with more negative or self-defeating thoughts will just add more pain.

once you have worked through it, then you may be able to help others or talk about it in a constructive way or without the actual pain that was associated with it.

Thankyou for confiding in us Jmpet. It's an important first step. When I was at my worst, I was like an animal that just wanted to hide away under a hedge to sleep and wake no more. Nobody knew, so nobody could help.
It wasn't that I especially wanted to die, it was that I couldn't hack living.
After a while though I realised that there were people all around the world that didn't have the choise. Dirty water, war and hunger were killing people that already had nothing but who really wanted to live. It's not a fair system.
You have to learn to forgive yourself your mistakes, just like you'd forgive someone else. Show yourself some human kindness.

    Don't do it.
    Don't join the Navy!

Because you are going to join the ship?
By "join the ship", do you mean suicide?
    And why May 21st?

Suggestion. On May 21st, take a holiday on a ship.
You can't kill yourself in May, fer ferks sake.

Just out of curiosity, something special about May? I was just curious...

I think the "join the ship" thing was a "heaven's gate" cult reference...

I keep checking on him, he hasn't been back.

If it was a joke you'd think he would have come out with it by now.

Just got home from psychatric evaluation/new med time.

I feel like Elvis with the half of a pharmacy I have in my room to take all day long.

Like the film "Awakenings"- when I was "out of service", I was "not at home"... my mind blanks out and I become robotic.

Rambling. Happy to be home. Thanks to all-

u need to realize woman are ruthless heartless.. ect ect ect. when shit doesnt go there way they go straight to your deepest darkest secrets and use them against you..
only advice i can offer is never under any circumstance tell a woman anything thats very personal or problems you have had in the past..

my ex got on my facebook saw messages to a girl that said i love you at the end.. she proceded to rip up every picture we had together. make a shitstorm and call me and my parents and tell them how sorry she was for them that they ever adopted a piece of shit selfish son like me. a week later my cousin came out here i introduced her to my ex and said heres my cuzin "stated her name" the girl that i love. hope your happy you ruined everything we had over an assumption

Man, I'm glad you're still sucking oxygen!
Actually, I was kind of wondering if (hoping that?) you were inpatient...

I vaguely suspected not...the people who go inpatient at my other message board always show up in the late afternoons to tell us how badly the ER sucked and how annoying it all is to have all these people monitoring you (it really is).

Depression is some evil, evil stuff.
    Happy pills for the win!

PS...I don't know if this will help you...
Between asthma, allergies, and psych, I pop pills like a pac-man...so I actually have to keep a notation sheet: when I got a given prescription, which doc wrote it, how many fills I have picked up on it, etc.
Plus, there's always the issue of medical emergency: you want to have a card in your wallet with your entire pill diet on it.

I suggest you not take any kind of pills for mental or spiritual problems, I think you are putting pressure on yourself. Enjoy life dont make it harder for yourself.

    Peace be with you.
  18. Enmos Valued Senior Member

And I suggest you do not give medical advice.
  19. livingin360 Registered Senior Member

What's the update? How are you feeling?
  20. fedr808 1100101 Valued Senior Member

I would suggest not. But something tells me that there is little an eighteen year old can tell you that practically anyone else hasn't.

Well, so long and thanks for all the fish.

But if I had a piece of advice, if your gonna commit suicide, at least get creative with it. It would be the last experience of your life. I'd want my last experience to be doing something I have never done before, or specifically, something that leads to death.

Maybe flying? Jump off something high, and enjoy the last few seconds.

But you know what I think? I don't think its your turn to die yet, I don't think you deserve the right to die. You try again, your given a second chance, which is amazing in and of itself. If you seriously try, and come the 21st you figure its not worth it, then yah, anchors away.

I think somewhere inside of you something decided on may the 21st, not this instant, not right now, but then. That would seem to imply to me that at least some inkling of your brain still thinks it can win.

Jmpet, there's a reason why your alive, its because your body does damned good job keeping it that way. And if you do decide to off yourself, don't wuss out on pills and alcohol, do something incredible, buy a one way ticket to say...China. Do something.

But jm, there's no use denying it, some part of you thinks that there is a reason to live. And if I were you, I would spend the next month of my life figuring out what is so damn special that some part of me is opennly rebelling against the greater me. If it's not good enough, its not good enough. But it might be. So please, try and figure out what that is before your gone.
  21. fedr808 1100101 Valued Senior Member

jm, remember, the pills are just as much an escape as they are a solution. As I said before, if you were completely suicidal then you would have never have even bothered to get the pills.

Figure out why some part of you thinks there's something to live for.

You are carrying something that has already gone. Look at the moon, isn't it stunning?
