"O'Dwyer's company, Metal Storm, is developing ballistics technology that could radically change modern warfare. Among other applications, Metal Storm is designing a box-shaped weapon with scores of barrels that spray ammunition at mind-bending speeds. In one demonstration, a 36-barrel prototype obliterated a stack of 15 solid wood doors by firing nearly 200 bullets in 1/100th of a second -- a rate of more than 1 million per minute. Today's fastest guns, by contrast, fire about 6,000 rounds a minute. Wayne Downing, former head of all U.S. Army Special Operations, describes it the way only a four-star general could: "This is a hyperweapon with an ungodly rate of fire."

1 million bullets in a minute... why on earth would you want that ? To slaughter your opponent in 6 seconds (army of 100.000) ?

    Bye!
