I think the only basis for Jewish law forbidding dairy & meat being served at the same meal is the following. Biblical scholars claim that this relates to an ancient religious custom practiced by either gentiles or early Jews. A lamb was chopped into small pieces & boiled in a vat of milk. The stew was spread over acreage used for crops. It was based on some religious belief.
