If you have a score of 180 or above in Stanford-Binet test, you will be one in 1,000,000. Which means there could be 400 people in USA with that high a score. We should round up these people and put them to solve our social problems...rather than hiring idiots to run departments like FEMA. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Or presidents with IQs lower then average........ Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
All intelligence tests try to quantify in the following areas: Fluid Reasoning Knowledge Quantitative Reasoning Visual-Spatial Processing Working Memory The short fall is in the area that is hard to quantify analogus to a computer speed/memory verses software logic. Additional area of problem is (1) Knowledge and (2) Working Memory. As you get older, the memory slows down but the knowledge goes up. But when you are younger, there is not much knowledge even though the Working Memory is high. So garbage in garbage out very fast. All things being equal, people usually stop accumulating knowledge as they age and hence get dumber by the day - as evidenced by the actions in Katrina incident. So, as saying goes...little knowledge is a dangerous thing.....
IQ tests done in different European countries suggest the smartest [European] countries are Germany and Holland (109.8 and 109.9 respectively).
Hey...you never know, what you can find...besides...we have come a long way, now debating on the "Intelligent Design"...aka GOD
143 to 160 The less right brain oriented a test is the better I do. If there were no right brain stuff maybe I could nail 190+ *sigh*. I was an abused kid who lost himself in books. I have difficulty driving and understanding math. My grandfather scored lower than average when he was young. He worked as a painter for 35 years and his visual/spatial abilities have raised his scores considerably. He scores 140s and can barely comprehend philosophy at all. He's pretty much my opposite.
My suggestion is when you are raising your kids, pick up every IQ test books and work with the kids...I guarantee, they will gain at least 20 points. For one year, my son's math score was 50 (/100) average in 3rd grade. I worked with him one week....the score went up to 80 points and stayed at 80 to 96 for the next year. If you are an adult and want to keep your IQ high (most people lose IQ as they grow old) read a lot about a lot....mostly non-fiction.
