^or perhaps its the opposite, there is no order, but chaos that we do not yet understand, but try to understand as humans beings naturally do, when we attempt to understand it , there comes order

we create fictional laws to order things so that they appear orderly, when in reality, things are truly random, in every aspect

Just want to say that the universe doesn't need to be deterministic just because it isn't random, remember the Heisenbergs uncertainty principle, even if the universe is non-random (ordered or what you want) it still isn't deterministic as we cannot determine it.

This is believed by most scientists to be fundamental, that is, a principle that is fundamental to the universe, and which makes the universe undeterminable just like random would.

From what I remember, the way Chaotic systems are seen to contain order is based upon analysing a finite sample.

For instance you don't know where you are going to be in a years time or what you are going to be doing, however you have a pretty good clue of what you'll be doing in 30 seconds from now. The longer the time period between the two points of observation, the greater the number of variables.

The variables are no way infinite, however they exist both in a large number and invisible to measurement which makes knowing where you'll be and what you'll be up to in a years time an impossible answer. Other than just a "guess".

The universe will always appear chaotic unless you have the ability to view it as the universal observer, in which case the universe is predetermined.

Roy pretty much hit the nail on the head as it can actually be both and none at the same time. Especially so if you don't want to feel you are following a fate driven path and want to divert your existance by becoming a universal observer, you can perhaps change your position however your position will always be within the universal bounds.
