    I think 8 is the number of off the shelf magazines, I think it is something like 14 for under the counter magazines.

    I just weighed some: 10 magazines total 2.7 kg.
    You should be able to work it out from that.

    (8 issues of Air International, 1 of Aircraft Illustrated and 1 of Scale Aircraft Modelling if you're interested).

    It would depend upon the weight of the magazines and the physical attributes of the person they were put upon. Some people are very thin and small in stature and some magazines are heavier than others.

    I was almost crushed by a magazine once.

    Luckily I dived out of the way while an old issue of National Geographic was falling.

    You ought to stick to reading lighter reading material, if you must go in for heavy reading periodicals, get a hard hat.
