Heh, I had been led to believe that the soviets had ownership of his skull. It was "identified" to be Hitler's because the dental profiles matched. I've heard that after his death, Hitler ordered his officers to burn his body. But as said before, Killjoy makes a good point; who is to say that the soviets even had possession of the skull in the first place?
You know, I came to the conclusion that they already knew this 60 years ago, but were too ashamed to admit to having lost track of Hitler's whereabouts. Imagine the shame. How would they face the victims, the World and go all "Shit, guys..Hitler..well, we went to this fucking bunker, but it was half empty...you know..just the Goebbels family dead on the floor..but no person with 'Stache to be found..":bawl::bawl::bawl:
The Russians didn't tell any of the other Allied nations about having what they thought was Hitler's skull, IIRC. What would really suck is having to explain it to this guy - Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
I didn't say that the Russians did. Yet, everybody presumed that Hitler ..'died'. Really, on what evidence was this based again?
` I believe the main evidence was the accounts of those among Hitler's inner circle present in the Führerbunker describing his suicide, and the subsequent burning of his corpse.
To me, it seems immaterial, except where the sure knowledge would have satisfied the Allied nations at the time of the war's end that Hitler's death assured no manner of nazi resurgence in Germany. After all, even if Hitler did manage to escape the devastated Reich - fleeing to Argentina, or whatever - what came of it ? I certainly wasn't touting them as beyond doubt. Merely saying that's all I know of, besides the Russian claim that they had Hitler's skull.
It wasn't directed at you. lol I was more mocking the people from that time who actually...just "accepted" without evidence that Hitler is "dead". Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Here's one thing that has always puzzled me. After Operation Valkyrie I don't believe Hitler was ever seen. He only existed through telephones and his subordinates.
Hitler had no children. However, Hitler's cat had at least one. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
wasnt he identified by dental records at the time, besides i doubt he would have wanted to leave the bunker alive knowing that the gulags awaited him.
